Shock: A Disruption in the Matrix * 5
    #28663627 - 02/17/24 09:36 AM (4 months, 6 days ago)

Shock is a primal experience. It is a jolt to the system, a sudden disruption of our carefully constructed reality. It can be physical, like the sting of an electric eel, or it can be emotional, like the news of a loved one's death. In either case, it forces us to confront the fragility of our existence and the ever-present possibility of chaos.

Shock can be negative, of course. It can leave us feeling numb, disoriented, and even traumatized. But it can also be positive. It can jolt us out of our complacency, forcing us to see the world in new ways. It can be a catalyst for change, both personal and societal.

The electric eel in the image is a powerful symbol of shock. It lurks beneath the surface of the water, unseen and unsuspected, until it delivers a jolt of electricity that can stun or even kill its prey. It is a reminder that danger can lurk anywhere, and that our sense of security is often an illusion.

But the electric eel is also a source of fascination. Its ability to generate electricity is a marvel of nature, and it has been used by indigenous cultures for centuries for both medicine and hunting. It is a reminder that shock, while disruptive, can also be a source of power and wonder.

Ultimately, the nature of shock is complex and multifaceted. It is both negative and positive, disruptive and transformative. It is a force that we can never fully control, but it is one that we must learn to live with.

Here are some additional thoughts on the nature of shock:

Shock is often accompanied by a sense of disbelief. We can't believe that what is happening is actually happening. This disbelief can be a form of protection, a way of buffering ourselves from the full impact of the shock.
Shock can lead to a number of different emotional responses, including fear, anger, sadness, and even laughter. These responses are all ways of trying to make sense of the experience and cope with the emotional pain.
Shock can have a profound impact on our worldview. It can challenge our assumptions about the world and our place in it. This can lead to a period of personal growth and transformation.
Shock is a universal human experience. We all experience shock at some point in our lives. This shared experience can help us to connect with others and feel less alone.

Shock as Transformation: Do you believe there are types of shock more conducive to positive transformation than others? Why or why not?

The Collective Shock: We often understand shock through our individual experiences. How might our concept of shock shift when we consider large-scale collective events (natural disasters, pandemics, acts of war)? Does this change your perspective on the role shock plays within human society?

interesting direction of thinking.
for me I am mapping it to massive sudden change, with or without electrical interference shocks.

For me it brings up the sense of unity - when shocked the body and mind are both filled with the shock. There is a complete alignment, a wholeness to it that cannot be doubted in the moment of shock. It is so immediate it can't fall into either belief or disbelief.

Sometimes the shock is mental and spreads to the body, sometimes its physical and spreads to the mind.

When I look at the course of my life, it was directed by shocks along the way. Reading about psychedelics was one of those shocks.

For me it's neuroplasticity, the breakdown of entrenched neural activity, providing a homogenous medium for growth or re-adaptation to emerge from, like working out to break down muscle fibres, incurring growth and strength.

In the best case scanario at least

Shock is how we describe being reminded we're really here.

For someone whose concretely here; can they be shocked?

If taken to like an ink-blot test?

I think maybe I'm supposed to be shocked by a two way mirror engulfed of delusion with that of illusion?

If pain = shock, then yeah, sure.

I find the lacking of shockingness shocking.

I find rousing from a disturbing dream more shocking than anything I can see with the eyes.

Then again, I'm really weird.

Even worse is when I remember who I really am.
(an equation of 'my' self)

It fascinates me how shocking it feels to lose youth and grow old.

I guess we are the only species on Earth to feel shocked by it?

We do our best, or get involved with complaining, as if that would help in any way.

I'll lobby for early renewal, not that I'm complaining.

We can all relate to feeling shock related to unexpected events, such as a newborn dying or your house burning down, but to feel shock about aging is dang silly.

Sentimentality can be a shock to the system,
Looking at photographs of time gone by does it to me, but it is kind of a happy shock and how fast the time flies.

The monk was able to sit in serenity as he was immolated without being shocked.

As he was already within the now; thusly his root cannot be broken.

It's only shocking to come back into the present moment without activate intention of doing so.

The sweet sorrows lies in the fact it may often times take drastic measures to bring someone back to living here in the present moment.

There's something amiss with the car in the background so he took it up on himself to arrive at his destination without further ado; as a possible reaction to frustration, such as "we can burn brighter than the sun" may refer to, imo

“The Universe in which we find ourselves and from which we can not be separated is a place of Law and Order. It is not an accident, nor chaos. It is organized and maintained by an Electro-dynamic field capable of determining the position and movement of all charged particles. For nearly half a century, the logical consequences of this theory have been subjected to rigorously controlled conditions and met with no contradictions.” -- Harold Saxton Burr

some forms of matter itself possess the spark of life.  take for example, the human heart.

the individual cells of the heart, tightly organized beating in unison, create the source of the body's strongest electromagnetic field.  it emanates thousands of times more magentism than the brain.

the heart's emf's arc out and back to the heart to form of a torus field.  with changes in intention one can instantaneously effect the hearts emf.  the heart is a pathway for personal, social, and global coherence.  with the hrt's intentionality there is a projection of awareness towards a desired outcome or object.

the heart will hear what you program it to.  the heart is a pattern that is determined by the interplay of electrodynamic fields and the particular matter therein contained.

a shock to the heart!

when angels bowl, there is thunder!  when an angel hits a strike a lightening bolt appears across the sky!

if you really know you're aging, every single moment becomes the most precious thing possible

usually we are dissociated from that

some people never really know it, some only find out on a death bed
