APE driving me ape

My monotub has been going for a month. See pics (no not contam, the yellow is a reflection through the plastic lid. The brown is the sub under the thin mycelium. It is all white and smells amazing).
My shoe box is 2 weeks along and... well... see pics.
Im more getting annoyed with the monotub. Its been a month tomorrow.
Is this normal? What can i do to help it if anything?
The Tidal Wave i sent a week ago is going nuts. I know APE is slow, but this is just like.. it feels like im doing something wrong maybe? For a month along, does this look a bit immature?

yeah thats a relatively long time. it varies widely, but on a bell curve its toward the outer numbers. ape is known to be slow though. i thought that mianly referred to colonization and not specifically fruiting stages though.

Welcome to Shroomery!
- APE is a lot slower than other cubes. It's recommended to use a super clean spawn. Do you have any pictures with spawn used? - APE requires casing. Have you applied any casing?

I have not done a casing layer let. I keep reading different things. Do you think it is worth a shot?
Should i just gently sprinkle some on top and give it a spray?

So no cube requires a casing I've done plenty of apes it might help depending on people's environments but not a necessity
Also I really looked hard at your pics of your tub I don't see any hyphal knots. Are there any there?
Your surface conditions from the pics look good. are you misting?
If you'd want to do a casing yes sprinkle on gently and try to even it out gently but imo no need for a casing just takes more time

it is possible that your spawn was bacterial but imo it looks ok and your surface conditions are good. definitely enough moisture.

Instead of casing you could try next time to use compression layer. See Top Layer/Pseudo-casing by p9.

I have not been mysting regularly. I mysted around the edges today because the sides were a little dry by the air intake.
There are a couple, i think? These popped up today. They look more solid, like little raised thin areas. There arent many. Its kind of hard to see in the pics, but they are above the fluffy looking mycelium. Is that them?

I was thinking that, too.
If it was, would that stunt them til/if recovery?

Temperature is okay. Lower than 18C(65F) would have a negative impact by slowing down mycelium growth.

Thank you so much for your help. I guess they were just shy because this morning i woke up to pins
Isnt it weird how sometimes things dont happen in this existence until you pull the lid off of it (metaphorically speaking) and air something you were reluctant to say?
Anyway, thank you!

You gotta increase FAE. That surface was too wet and likely the cause of your stall. Droplets should be like 1/10 the size of the droplets you have there.
