People have all kinds of motivation for doing things.  Saying a guy is a hero without knowing his real character is sketchy but you can say he did a good deed if you see it that way.

There are two types of dudes in this type of scenario

The one that chases the bad guy and the one that was gonna stand with his thumb up his ass and his phone in his hand making sure he got some good content

I think we know which type OP would be

We definitely know which one you are. That's for sure

Yes, I am the man that runs towards chaos and danger when a situation needs someone to handle it.  I trust my brain, reflexes, and strength to protect me, especially if someone is hurt or is doing someone wrong, and especially if it's a female.  I have daughters so I instinctually rush to protect all females when I see some bullshit happening, because her dad isn't there so I step up and hope a man like myself will be there when my daughters need it.  That's what real men do

I run up to car accidents, I've seen dead bodies, I've saved a woman that was desperate to get away from a man that was trying to hold her against her will.  The look of gratitude on her face when she passed me after I got that sack of shit to let her go using only my words was fucking priceless

You sound retarded as fuck

Half of you here are clearly selfish little bitches and are so much of what is wrong with this complacent self-centered world.  If you aren't willing to jump in and deal with a potentially hazardous or gruesome situation to help someone, then you have no right to think someone should do that for you or your loved ones when shit hits the fan

I'll go a step further and say that if that's your attitude, you deserve to one day have to hear about your mother, or sister, girlfriend, daughter, etc being in a horrible situation while some poor excuse of a man stood on the side watching but not doing jack shit about it so you can then have the thought of "gee I wish that guy that witnessed that did or said something to protect my ________"

It is beyond my comprehension that someone could stand by and watch someone in need without helping and not feel like a piece of shit every night when they try to fall asleep

Empathy is clearly in short supply
Bravery too
Chicken shits think they're justified in acting selfishly under the guise of "protecting themselves"
Evil exists and attempts to turn the weaker and more vulnerable people into victims all the time.  To not combat that when an opportunity presents itself is letting evil win...if this applies to you, fuck you for that

I pity you that feel like stepping up to help a stranger is stupid

Everyone else was trying to break the window to get the guy that died out of the car they didn't even turn around to try and go after the guy except this one "hero" who needed to be on the news and ran up and caught some Guy moving at like a mile and a half per hour.

But I guess some call him a hero

Even the initial question here is absolutely ridiculous

The victim in the car clearly had all the people trying to help that could.  Someone decided to stop the person responsible from getting away and somehow you are fucking stupid enough to turn that into a bad thing.  The guy that shot the video sure as fuck wasn't gonna do anything to actually help in the moment. He just wanted to stand there getting footage thinking about who he was gonna share it with later... what a fucking worthless piece of shit he is (unless the person recording was a woman, in that case they get a pass)

OP, you infer the guy was putting a show for the cameras.  Do you actually think that before he decided to chase after the guy that he looked around for the pansy ass with his phone out and THEN decided to chase him because he was gonna "be on the news"?

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you people?
Why don't you all go ahead and declare that you are trans? The actual men of the world don't need you claiming to be one of us and bringing our average down.
Maybe one day, one of us retards will be there to save your sorry ass when you need it

Call it what you want.  The world is suffering from a serious shortage of actual men.  That puts more pressure on those of us that are

It's ok though, that's what being a man is about.  You little girls stay safe and out of the way tucked in at home behind your screens

I highly doubt you girls are getting any chances to reproduce, but on the off chance that you do, please don't
Let your shitty genetics end with you and enjoy the comfort of your mother's bosom as long as she's alive because she's gonna be the only woman that will want you around with an attitude like that

Him: (realizes how stupid he sounds) Well no but...
Me: Then you need to get off of her car.  (wait a few seconds) Whatever you thought was gonna happen here, it isn't. Not today pal, not today

He removes his hands from her car.

That is brutal

I think so, though it would be better if he beat the shit out of the dude and let the cops come arrest him at home later (if he didn't kill himself).

My maternal uncle was killed by a drunk driver. His girlfriend jumped from the Delaware Memorial Bridge shortly after and died in the Delaware in river.

I've personally been in accidents as a kid when my shitfaced paternal uncle was driving. They were obvious to us kids in the car, but he was too fucked up to realize we were going to get hit.

If you're driving while fucked up enough to get into an accident, you're a shitty person. If you kill someone because you're so wasted while driving, see line 1. I'm sure many on this site have done stupid stuff while on something, but I've driven drunk once in my life and I would argue that I was probably over the limit, but anxious enough about police that I was over-correcting. Even then, I knew I was too intoxicated the second I pulled out of the parking lot and regret having driven home, honestly.

As far as everyone helping the victim while the one "hero" ran to tackle the guy. Well, everyone was helping the victim. Tackling the dude who killed someone seems to be the rational course of action, no?
