Anyone been in my shoes?
    #2867096 - 07/08/04 12:31 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Ive searched now for a couple days on mental addictions of Mushrooms. My problem is that I am always thinking about magic mushrooms. In my dreams, at work, home, chilling with friends, magic mushrooms are always on my mind. I have done them 3 times (meduim dosage) and the last trip was 3 weeks ago but it seems every time ive done them ive always thought about them ALOT. Is this normal? Its no where near a physical addition. I guess its like when I made love for the first time, i couldnt stop thinking about how great it was. I would just like to know if anyone else has been threw this or is at the point i am.

I wouldn't call it some kind of addiction.

I think what happened, is you had a really interesting time, so you're going to think a lot about it.

I know what you mean its all you can do to not jump out of your seat and go out and buy some, it sucks alot.

My only advice is to keep busy, idle hands are the devils play ground.

Unless you want to do them in which i find the feeling wickedly cool, like a kid in a candy shop.

I guess this is sorta like a habit but not really.

Take a larger dose and you won't be thinking about doing them so much.

Believe me!

Try 11 dry grams.

I would dare say that a lot of people here think about mushrooms a lot. When I dream, I dream of bud more than anything else. I wouldn't call it an addiction, it's a passion. Happy trails.

Yeah, I don't know if I would look up anything about addiction just because you think about mushrooms all the time...in my circle of friends, it's like a joke, that I will always be the first one to bring up drugs/tripping, and that I'll usually do it quick.  My mind is so intricately tied up with the idea of tripping that I find sometimes everything people are saying remind me of one thing or another relating, somehow, to psychedelic drugs...
Shrooms are an earth-shattering experience, and your mind will never forget it.
As long as you still like the sunshine when you're nice and sober, though...you don't have to worry.

Yep. If something's immensely and extremely intriguing then there's no problem with thinking about it lots. Why not analyze past trips, or think about what's in store for your next journey? There's no shame in that.

As long as you're not doing muchrooms every other day and just expiring the whole magic of it all... seems like you don't have anything to worry about.

It is just like "Being in John Malkovich" isn't it?

I am thinking about shrooms all the time. I want to eat them again but i don't eat all the time. LOL...

Just like "Being in Malkovich", but it was "MYSELF" I was in...

I remember a friend made an analogy once about addiction (weed was the subject then). He said something like: "It is like when your thirsty and you want something to drink, so you choose red cool aid. You don't choose red cool aid because your addicted to it, but merely because you like the flavor and it differs from water". I also look at shrooms like somebody who is trapped inside a house their entire life then one day they get to go outside. I would figure that this person would not want to be locked in the house for the rest of their life and would like to venture outside more often. I would not say the person is addicted to the outside...

I have an addiction to mushrooms period. Not actives, not edibles, not poisonous ones. ALL mushrooms. (well, perhaps a Shroomery addiction too, but whatever, it's the best site on the internet IMO). I have only experienced one true addiction, and that would be to nicotine. I have only experienced one true dependance, and that was to Xanax. There is a big difference between addiction and dependance IMO. Just because you enjoy something does not mean you are addicted to it or dependant on it. You simply like whatever it is so much you give it alot of thought. Nothing wrong with that...
