So my question is, If I'm gonna make a big batch of spawn, I'll need to run it for 3.5 - 4 hours, I'll need lots of water so it doesn't go dry, but I will need something to lift the trivet off high enough so the water is under the trivet line.. What do you suggest I use? Aluminum? Like what would I use, some kind of aluminum Shelf brackets?

I started using Pyrex glass dishes. Stacked two on top of each other but obvi you lose a lot of space lol
But yeah it cake racks could probably work

Any idea if the petcock types lose less water than weight rockers or prestos?

When it's closed they don't lose any water.

How do they maintain pressure without climbing too high if its closed after venting?

You have to find the sweet spot with the heating element. On my current element it holds at 15lbs on 5.
I did a write-up on my process Here

Ok I read that, great thanks! So while the petcock is open at full steam, that would be considered its venting time right? during that venting time, I'll lose the most water I imagine. 1 liter of water doesn't sound enough in that case if its a 30 min vent

That would be venting time yes. I only vent at full steam for 5-10 minutes. It loses very little water in that time. You PC is a little bigger than mine, I'm sure adding an extra 500ml wouldn't hurt.

Ok great. I was under the impression when doing a big cook say packed full of spawn bags, a minimum of 30 min vent needs to be done?

It's been a few decades since I ran bags so I'm not sure what to recommend there.
