Grow bags
    #28670296 - 02/21/24 07:39 PM (10 months, 20 days ago)

Hey guys, so obviously I'm new here as I put my name down as the rookie lol but I'm working with grow bags since I'm so inexperienced, I have a few questions, so it's very cold where I live so I bought seedling mats to sit my bags on and have them set for 74°, after they sit a while I get a LOT of condensation inside of the bags, is that okay? I'm asking because it's taking FOREVER for these bags to do anything, I have 12 bags going since 01/26 and none of them are evem close to being colonized so I was wondering if this condensation might be a variable as to why. Second question, I have all my bags inside of a Martha tent, its just a regular tent no humidifier and no fan, just the seedling mats, I read somewhere that they should be stored away from direct light and be able to "breath", with all of them being inside of an air-tight tent do you think they're not getting the proper air that they need and this could be the reason it's taking so long to colonize? Should I take them out of the tent and just store them in the closet and only use the tent for when it's time to fruit them? Sorry for all the questions here, I'm just trying to figure out what exactly I'm doing wrong, I'm seeing so many people getting fully colonized bags within 1 to 2 weeks and here I am coming up on a month and still have nothing.. any information and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank yall.

Yes, they need to breathe.
Let them colonize whereever you want them to,
as long they can breathe.
No, they don´t need to stay away from light.
Heating mats ain´t advised,
you´ll partially dry out your substrate
and mess up with conditions in general.
If ever, use a space heater.
What´s your temps like? If your somewhat in the 60´s you´re good.
How you plan on fruiting?
Straight from the bag or do you have some tubs?

condensation usually isnt good and results from temp swings usually. can mean bacteria or contamination. in your case though here i would say its the seedling mat. you could still get bacteria. pics would be helpful :dancer:

just let them colonize anywhere at room temp, no need to stash away in the dark. i just have mine in a shelf in my room. it stays 63-67 degrees in my house.

the part i highlighted in teal is just yes you should.

last highlight, don´t be sorry. everyone has questions starting out. that´s why were on the thread bro. glad you´re here.
