Welcome reader! I am trying to identify whether or not this cubensis has a disease! I think it does considering I've never had any batches look like this. Looks like the caps are indenting and turning black / brown in portions. I did some research and I think it's verticulum bit I want to know for sure! If you could offer a 2nd opinion that would be fantastic! I will also note: I fan 1 to 2 times a day Temperature is 65 ( quite low cause of winter ) Relative humidity 50%+ I have not misted the bins they have retained great humidity levels Unsure of what day into fruiting we are.

Mine have done something similar but as they grow they look more normal. Actually I had an upside down mushroom Growing off of the cap of a mushroom in my last grow. It was so weird.

What an amazing genetic mutation you had! That sounds pretty cool! Thank you for your time and answer! Do you think the low temperature is partially to blame or just genetics?

Do the spots spread or grow? Or do they remain the same size as time passes?

I am unable to answer that question completely. It seems like they keep appearing on newly developed pins. A cluster of pins come in normally and then starts growing pretty well, and then that appears. I will try to keep note of the sizes over the next day.

You're getting bacterial infections due to condensation dripping on your mushrooms. See here.

Ty both so much. Would you recommend tossing the batch? I'm conflicted because it's infected and I don't wanna grow bad mushrooms. But I also saw that so long as they aren't mushy slimy etc that they can be saved by upping fae and decreasing the amount of droplets on them!

Personally, I wouldn't consume the fruits that are already affected. Others have consumed them without issue. But I like to play it safe.
If you improve conditions, and new healthy fruits pop up, I would have no concerns about eating those.
