Yeah, I wasn't thinking clearly earlier when I mentioned the 4*2.

I plan to get a 2*2 and if I decide I need more room later just buy a second one and put them next to each other

I use celltreats for disposables(i use these for starting spore, or cleaning up stuff, so i can just throw them away afterwards), and polymethylpentene petris made by Nalgene for stuff thats already clean or that im storing shortterm(they're expensive but autoclavable)
You can find the celltreats on Amazon or ebay.

2 for sure.  My wife helped me get it on the table and we had to shim it up with cinder blocks and then slide it on.

Hi Funguys and gals,

I hear your cries and have a fun project in the works, a 20"x17" flowhood.

On the left you can see my current largest offering, on the right is the new larger unit.

I will be running a limited 20% sale on launch, sign up to my newsletter on my website https://funguyequipment.com/ to be the first to hear. I will be targeting $400 but this is subject to further financial analysis.

If you have any questions for me the best way to reach me is on my website, but I will try to be more active on here.

To answer some of the comments I have seen:

Just use a still air box || I have had customers try and fail with still air box and havent looked back after buying a flow hood.

Save up for a larger industrial unit || Some people are limited on space or dont want a large metal box sitting around. I see it time and again in forms that the recommendation is to get the best, and I get it, we are passionate about what we do. While I am not trying to pull the wool over your eyes, there are larger more efficient units out there whos main application is in industry, why does the average hobbyist need a unit like that when ours do almost the same job for a fraction the cost and includes quality of life features such as a LED, shield easy change filter etc... And lower running costs, filter changes, electricity.

Build one yourself || I am a avid advocate of doing things yourself, but I understand that some people aren't as savvy in the workshop, don't have the time or want a turnkey solution. I have done the R&D, design, sourcing and testing so you don't need to. And you get a product that does the job without any hassle. I have had feed back from customers who have tried DIY solutions and haven't been successful.

Mush Love, Donald.

PS. MODS, I am a sponsor of the shroomery, pls don't remove this <3

While the unsolicited self advertisement is cringy af, if you really are a sponsor I'd considering contracting you for a 3'x6' hood.
Message me.

I just ordered one of Funguy's 16.5"x13" flow hood and will let you know what I think of it when I get it.
As much as I'd like to build my own larger flow hood, I just don't have the extra space for it.
If I can just store this one in a tote in my garage and take it out when needed that'd be great.

Funguy equipment,  you know you are not allowed to advertise your products on the forum outside of the sponsor area, it is specifically disallowed and clear in the vendor rules.

Advertising policy rules are clear;

3. Sponsors are not allowed to promote their products outside of the Sponsors forum though contests may be held in the Marketplace.

Your added note asking mods to not delete it clearly shows you know you were not supposed to advertise here.

My opinion on my 12"x 24"

It's too small but workable.  If fan filter units had been priced the way they are now when I built mine that would have been a better option.

My next major purchase will be a 2 * 4 ffu.

What's up with the charcoal carbon filter?

Hey just wanted to give an update, been using this flow hood for 2 weeks now.
It's working well for me, I've probably opened 2 dozen jars in front of it so far with no contams.
I didn't think the little fan would have enough static pressure but it passes the lighter test at around 60% power.
I wish it was a little cheaper but I did get free shipping from the UK so it's not too bad.
I'd give it 4/5 stars, works perfectly fine just feels a little cheap due to being 3d printed.
Also shipping took nearly a month from the UK -> USA.
Overall I'd recommend this if you're tight on space and don't want to make your own.
