    #28664835 - 02/18/24 01:43 AM (4 months, 6 days ago)

Apologies if this been asked. I have pink oysters breaking through the pore tape at sub level. So much for pore tape.
I can’t figure how to post the video. Really don’t have a specific question besides just needing advise. I don’t need pinkie spores all over

As far as your original question, move it outside or away from where you don't want heavy spore load. Spores and oysters are a real concern from what I've been researching, gearing up for my own gourmets. Spore issues range from nonissue like dusting up the place, to much more worrisome like becoming allergic to them or they colonize damp wood if you have leaks in your home!

Other than that, the fruitbodies are not developing right because lack of fresh air, or too high concentration of CO2

Your best bet is to try and increase the fresh air. Start thinning the larger clusters now. Oysters are 'Shelf' mushrooms, or, its preferred they grow from the side of substrate. In other words, monotub style grows/substrates are not ideal for Pink Oysters.

I would thin the larger clusters now. As well as the mutated ones. I really like pink oysters. Stir fry those up, they taste like bacon a bit. Leave new pin clusters to develop in better air quality conditions.

Next grow attempt, make a straw log or a sawdust block of some type, there are lots of combinations Oysters will tolerate, virtually anything really. But the fruiting style is what you want to change.

Also, since so many are fruiting at once they'll probably suck the substrate dry, I would carefully water if it looks dry. Avoid getting mushrooms wet, they'll ruin fast.

Ain't no expert but that my advice to you hope it helps.

I just ordered a fruiting block of pink oysters and golden oysters. I'm accustomed to cubes so this is all new for me.

When I received the bags they looked off to me. One had yellowing , as well as they just didn't look all that consolidated etc.  Should I be worried, or contact the seller ? I have them In my tent recovering from the trip , hopefully they perk back up. Looking for any and all advice. Thanks !
