To be fair I charged a AA battery at 1amp the other day it got pretty hot, I wonder what would happen if I charged a AA at 2amps

Yeah idk that's the thing I'm skeptical of any of these calculations just for that fact gophie. I think the only accurate way would be to measure it during a charge and average them or whatever. There's no way these things are like 100% efficient how can they be when they like heat up and stuff and and also these things don't charge all the same and it uses less and current as it gets closer to fully charged. But anyway there's no way it's even close to some wacko number like $20 gtfoh

For lithium maybe it's reaasonable to require it's monitores, (although somewhat micro-management)
Lithium batteries can catch fire / explode if charged improperly

here's a shocker, almost every human in the free world is carrying one on their person.

Want to carry it on an airplane, no problem, but you better dump your shampoo!
