so someone finally made a PC that is induction compatible!!! so my set up is this induction PC (link below) and a nuwave induction cooktop (link below) now the nuwave i linked to is their top of the line certified unit there are plent of others that are half the cost but i figured get the high end unit it should be more dependable. anyways with these induction cooktops they have built in timers so i get my pc set up put it on high heat until its up to pressure then i drop it down to like 375 and set the timer for an hour and 30 minutes then forget about it cuz itll auto turn off. i set it up right before bed and it just does its thing while i sleep or i also sometimes do it before going to work. because its induction i feel its a lot safer as there is no hot heating element or flame etc. also becuse it has actual temperature control its also a great pasteurization coook top cuz you can set it to 170 degrees and itll heat up your water bath to 170 and keep it there then you just once again set the internal timer and forget about it itll stay 170 and auto turn off at your desired run time. no more having to babysit your pc or pasteurization runs.

I understand that it has a timer on it and it’s “set and forget” but you are makeing a bomb if for some reason one of maybe fifteen things fails in or on your PC or induction cooktop, or you just thought you added 1 more quart of water then you did,BOOM, and I hope your neighbors aren’t sleeping above were your pc is, OR the shut off timer fails, OR HUMAN ERROR, just stay awake when your doing the one possibly dangerous thing in he entire process lol, but that’s up to you
Also leaveing the pc to cool down completely lets a vacuum pull in I cleaned air, make sure there is not pressure left in it, but don’t let it get back to room temp

so i should be around when the potentially hazardous bomb goes boom so i blow up with the cooker? no thanks ill just set it and forget it. lol Also how does adding too much water make a PC go boom?

Making your own pressure cooker and leaving it on unattended sounds really stupid.

I'm all for innovation, but please be careful.
I use an Instant Pot and I'm very happy with it, both for mycology as well as gastronomy. They are cheap, easy, and safe.

Where did he say he made his own pressure cooker?
He's simply running his pc with an induction plate that has a timer.

Maybe I am missing something here, but I don't think he "made his own pressure cooker." He has a link to a commercially made PC which is compatible with an induction cooktop. Presumably, the manufacturer, not wanting to have the shit sued out of them, would provide required safety features like a pressure relief mechanism, and locking system, etc. Any pressure cooker inherently can be dangerous, but so can your typical AC circuit, internal combustion engine, or any other number of things we deal with on a daily basis.
