Totally with you, OP. In yogic traditions the deeper meaning of Tantra (and Buddhist Vajrayana) entails meeting all circumstances and situations, and utilizing them (alchemizing them) to further one’s own spiritual “progress.” Until the realization firmly takes root that there is no “good” or “bad,” that these are judgments that attempt to deny aspects of reality.

I’ve also heard that the throat chakra in particular is associated with “transforming negative circumstances into positive.” I believe in Hindu mythology, Shiva used his throat to swallow, but hold and transform into nectar, a poison that threatened to overtake the world (unleashed by demons). So, transmutation is another name for the game!

Don't try Shiva's trick at home!!!
Poison kills.

I have enjoyed Tibetan Buddhist complexity a great deal but it seems to work by exhausting the rational mind.

On the other hand the detailed visualizations spoken of can manifest spontaneously in a meditation that has nothing to do with visualization.

This resembles dreaming which hardly ever tells you the story you wanted but does it with incredible details and clarity.

Thus it is like Mara, which is much more exciting than television.

Tacking on to the last 3 posts and going off on a tangent or a few...

In terms of awareness of Body:Mind viewed relationally as inextricable unitivity/connectivity as however may be expressing differentially together as parts of a whole Cosmos of activity!
Simultaneously expressing, as in, one's experiencing of what's life as of what's happening ~ while with that of nature (as) environment.
(ie. you're ever at/with the environment, The Environment (as Nature) is ever at/with you and beyond a single organism)

'Environment' - which, itself (does include one's organism, and, all that which is shared with all other beings) as if so by default & evolutionarily, genetically can be thought of as if 'The Tree of Life' ~ thus, it includes all of that which has been universally issued, is issuing, and or will be issued as that of 'shared nature' (*life*) with respect to the set of all sentient beings on Earth ( + maybe elsewhere too, idk)

Sometimes..
terms such as 'bad and good' can be okayish, but, it depends.

This one simple shameless plug bias trick i've learned to play around with and in so doing, found clearly more helpful in terms of their functionality as to any relations with the world in and around oneself:
~ are something more or less along the lines of

(us) example:

Wholesomeness
(ambiguous)
Unwholesomeness
...
Skillfulness
( )
Unskillfulness
...
Pleasantness
(neutralness)
Painful/Unpleasantness

-or-

(i.me.self) examples:

good

ambivalence

bad

-or-

right

wrong...evil!:drevil: [see: ignorance]

ps. while they've all some purpose if utilized wisely; the terms grouped in the firstmost (us) example seem to go well when served with a warm heart whilst well chilled. :mushroom2:
simple as that.

no I am not trolling, but I would like you to question your own use of the term "love", which keeps coming up here.
we have already discussed why I think it verges on vapid,
so No, I do not want to discuss it again here.
I am not the one trolling.

And while I have a gut feeling something like Myers Briggs' stuff wouldn't go for it as such ~ you can't blame a happy turd in its own 4-dimensional peristalsis OM-amatic reality tube for worming a dream, I say.

"Has anyone here read Meditations by Marcus Aurlius?"

My son asked for this book for Christmas, I bought it for him, he read it and has made BIG life changes. He stopped drinking, smoking weed and is trying to stop smoking cigarettes.

I asked to borrow it. I want to read it now.

It has some charming moments though, so yeah, IDK, what you might find of value within its pages might be more useful to you.  W/e it is, I hope its good to you.

Thats great! I liked the book, lots of nuggets of wisdom in it that seemed appllicable to my life. Some things didn't translate for me, or maybe im just not smart enough to understand some of it, but I did enjoy the book even though I cant say I totally agree with some of the premises.

I'm about to read Of Human Freedom by Epictetus next. should be fun! Stoicism is quite an interesting philosophy IMO.

He'd have his chef turn you into dinner and then extol the virtues of man with his fellows while they're eating you, man.

(i only half kid, the collected 'meditations' contain portions where the reader can see someone clearly attempting to attempt to think clearly, sometimes swinging and missing, other times making a decent point.  Which, for 150 AD times...I suppose is pretty decent. There's some nuggets of wisdom in there, for sure.  It reads like a roman emperor's personal diary of philosophical speculative conjecture with some decent observations here and there. Imoe - there's nuggets of wisdom practically everywhere, so...yea.  W/e works.)

Not my go-to cup of tea.

You don't see the irony of his philosophy,  and yet he was emperor? He fell into that role. And Rome went to shit when he died. Not that great of a legacy tbqf.
