Wow, they started dropping spores already. Harvested most of the big ones. left most of the smaller clusters and will harvest them tomorrow. Have some of the larger caps on foil for prints as well.

@Tree Frog:

My jars are coming along! Hard to see, I'd say about 35-ish%. Which is well ahead of my control, I'd say is around 5%-10%.

Im excited for warmer ambient temps in my area.

MS->A->Poo Sub

Can we post in your Pan Poo Sub journal? if not, Ill certainly keep updates here.

Think Im going to do a couple more, but with my PHV culture.

Loving it so far, thanks!

Post away!  And thanks for the mushroom observer link!

Also keep in mind mycelium is less dense on less nutritious subs.  Supa ran some and was telling me they wouldn't finish colonizing.  Sent me a video on Signal.  They'd been done a long time lol.

Yours don't look finished but I wanted to clarify for everyone that they're not going to look like grain jars.

Here's some finished ones for reference.

BVI and Bisporus

Hey Tree, I swabbed two plates with that bvi print you sent. They both have nice growth and look great. Thanks for an awesome print.

Thanks for letting me know!

I'm still getting my technique down so I'm glad they worked well for you

Also, Supa gifted me that culture.  So, without him sharing the love, I wouldn't have been able too.

I’m here to say I also agree with your poo/verm/grain spawn jars. My bisporus colonized fast on that! Way more gooder than grain alone ever did! 😁

Making me jealous. I tried to mix manure with my spawn in hopes of skipping a pasteurization stage. It failed. Youre all making me want to take another shot at it.

I put all my verm for the grow in too aspect.  It's essentially a hack of what baba does and what other people were doing with poo in jars.

Ratio is roughly 2:1:1 poo:verm:grain.

Expirements are in my growlog.

The verm keeps the poo from caking.

Shameful cross post from the pan mono thread.

I just got back from a 10 day trip and am pretty happy with some of the results of my neglect tek monos. Starting from today I will be home and give them the misting and attention that they deserve for a couple of weeks.

Still early days with all of these so I am just after grows that I can clone to start some box loving cultures. I know that some of these were not ideal spawn candidates, but took a shot anyway. Each tray is a pint of millet spawn and about 1.5 quarts of LMP hpoo/coir.

Happy to hear any suggestions.

Pan cyan bunnell
Day 19

Gone for 10 days. No misting or attention of any kind. Pretty sure I need to toss the infected one in the back.

Pan Cyan Kona HI & Pan Cambo Komodo
Day 19
Gone for 10 days. No misting or attention of any kind. They

Cyan Kona went wild and Cambo Komodo getting going too. Needed to get a second picture because the Komodo were hiding behind the Kona.

Harvested Kona to get prints and clones started.

Pan Cyan BVI
Day 12

Gone for 10 days so total neglect tek so far.

Pan Bisporus
Day 12

Gone for 10 days so total neglect tek to date. About time to case.

Pan Cyan Bunnell(front) & Kona(back)
Day 12

Gone for 10 days. Total neglect tek and both are doing okay uncased.

Pan Cambo Komodo(front) & Cyan Wild Coast(back)
Day 12

10 days on their own. No attention at all yet.

Sorry for the repetition, I keep a journal with a post for each tub to track progress and changes.

Digging through old germination plates, found these Pan olivaceus plins, which I promptly took to another plate.

Updates!

Huge mono has this guy. Getting cloned asap.

Also has these gnarled boys. The tub is triched out a little bit. Could that be the cause? I had to leave for a couple of days and couldn’t mist.

This is a little shoebox. This cluster is growing pretty well.

These red spores are lovely too.

This is a different shoebox. I had been misting regularly and when it started pinning they mostly all aborted. Some clusters still looked good. I was hoping that the couple days away would show some growth. No dice. Any ideas?

I think those are probably too dry, pans can handle way more moisture than cubes.  My biggest issue when I first started pans was I kept feeling like I was drowning them but they loved it.

I'm still trying to figure out if I'm giving my Pans to much water or not enough.

The rh in my chamber is high so they don't seem to need extra water via misting (I am misting the casing between flushes).  And I'm thinking the Bisporus are giving me small fruits because of the sub being to wet at spawn.

Pinsets have been great.  But the dwarf fruits aren't fun to harvest.

Could also be the genetics I cloned.

Pans will literally become water logged. I had them to the point where I pick them and water would be just oozing out of them 😂 they’ll take all the water they can get
