BRF cake mycelium to agar * 2
    #28666833 - 02/19/24 12:27 PM (10 months, 22 days ago)

I seem to have nothing but bad luck when it comes to trying to get a drop or two from a spore syringe onto agar regardless of vendor and actually germinate it so, I make BRF cakes and get mycelium that way as I am getting some luck with this.
However, I am unsure if what I have is mycelium or not after transferring some of the BRF cake to my agar. It was hard to scrape the mycelium off of the cake so I cut out about 5mm of the BRF cake out and kept some of the mycelium on the top side of the wedge and placed that face down onto the agar plate. This was the result three days later.
Could it have been mould that I transferred and not mycelium?

Looks alright to me, you appear to have bacteria at around 9 to 11 o'clock. Transfer from the opposite edge (2 to 5 o'clock) for best results. I'd suggest rice sized transfers from that clean leading edge, do a few transfers in case you carry/introduce any contams.
I hate spore syringe to agar, much rather shoot it into brf pucks then use agar to clean up. Good work and keep us posted.
