powers are imaginary
do physical exercise for power and stamina do relaxation & awareness of what is happening in the moment for mental power
you can use any books you like, like weight lifting, but if you read them you will have a better vocabulary.

Meeting the Shadow: The Hidden Power of the Dark Side of Human Nature https://a.co/d/19OgP7J
Haven’t read it but I know Ann Shulgin included it in her list of reading recommendations for shadow work. Looks like it’s a compilation of essays by many different prominent Jungians

The shadow side is something in your personality that hasn't been fully integrated yet..

There's a spotlight within our minds, and its core has a consistant angular momentum.
At least the last 2 days I've come to realise this through experience, and however true it is technically, it is practically evident to me.

the basic configuration of the layered cortex detects changes in cortio-thalamic activation of primary cortical neurons and silences those that are unchanging which definitely produces a continuous shifting spotlight (of the remaining cortio-thalamic activations, that are changing more saliently) when the change is dramatic, our attention follows the "spotlight", but otherwise we bumble along with perceptive reflexes as per usual.

i see it as a habit of turning attention away from ourselves, from something we learned was unacceptable, yet it appears within us
this turning of attention is dissociation
the habit happens so fast and so automatically it isn't noticed, yet the phenomena still shows up
luckily this attention jumping doesn't usually happen when other people express the phenomenon. Usually we see it in others and don't like it. so our dislike of phenonmena we see in others can often be an important clue to our shaddow, to bring it to light

I had a friend who became a professional yoga teacher. I found him to be cloyingly artificially sweet, always professing love, and acting phony or saccharine sweetly especially to unattached females, yet rarely making any eye contact.
he must have found eye contact too reflecting of his artifice, which he felt was unacceptable, and that drove him further into his wrapping of sour spirit with shallow sweetened behavior.
the sound of his droning efforts to repeat the words of his guru were annoying, the lack of personal skill and confidence apparent in his cowering posture, sniveling expression, and constant need to be in the center of others attention.
you asked me in a pm what my problem with your frequent use of the term "love" is, and I think it is that it reminds me too much of this guy.
please do not try to back door that issue by pm'ing me about it. I apologize for my lack of patience with pretense in the forum. You have to be who you are, and if it happens to bother me I will mention it where it happens because that is the way I am, we are not negotiating our personalities.
I am doing you no harm and you are doing me no harm, it is just dialog.

making accusations without offering anything helpful is playing the persecutor role in the drama triangle.
this is a debate oriented forum and you've refused or been unable to explain your cynical view of me. the last example was when you made the claim that wanting to be of benefit to people was my general view of love and was a commodification of love. When I asked you to explain you simply said no. I see this as simply trolling behavior that doesn't help you, me or this forum.
