San Pedro seedlings help ! first time grower at home
    #28663441 - 02/17/24 07:30 AM (4 months, 7 days ago)

Hello guys.
I have a question regarding my San Pedro seedlings that are about 9 months old. Some of them are strong and look healthy but some of them are soft, yellowing bottom, and looks really weak.

Im growing them under LED lights with full spectrum day light, 6500K. Light cycle is 12 to 14h a day. Temp at my room its constant 23 celsius. Its winter time now and 2 month ago in December ive moved

seedlings to smaller individual pots with new cacti soil mix with perlite and earthworm casting.

Ive been watering my seedlings quite often because the soil dries out very quickly, about every other day. Occasionally ive been using nematodes for fungus gnats.

What the photos says about my seedlings conditions and how to save them ?
Kind Regards

You only need to water them once a week or every two weeks. Soil should not be constantly wet when they've developed ribs

I dont have much advice to this as i hardly grow inside but they really should be bigger for nine months. On the other hand they dont look like they need saving as they are still alright. They may not be gowing but they are not dying.

How fresh were the seeds?

I don't know how fresh was seeds but ive get them from online shop. on the other forum folks says that they are very dehydrated.

what does to browning on the bottom of stem means ? to much sun ? the led lights are around 30 cm above seedlings and are on 12h a day.

They do look dehydrated, I only read your post without looking at pics, that was my fault. A good mix for starting trich seeds for me has been 50% sand 50% black kow potting soil with the wood chips removed, and they do probably need more water. This is a pic I took in October last year, they were maybe 4 months old at this point. I would water them heavy once a week

I will start new round with sterile soil mix and plastic container with closed lid for several month. this ones left their humidity dome after not even 2 month due to fungus gnats, maybe thats the reason they grow so little and soil dries out so quickly.

is the light leds  30 cm above seedlings enough ? and what does the browning on the bottom of the stem means ?

Kind Regards
