20 min at 15psi. If you go to long you risk carmelizing your nutrient. You are probably fine at 30 min but I wouldn't go anymore than that.

Pale color is just a cool mutation called leucism. The genetics you have probably are just prone to that mutation. May or may not be common with TPB, but you should clone it either way. Leucistic shrooms are really fun!

How many plates did you put spores on? I’ve had this happen with a few of my plates using perfectly good spores syringes (they worked in BRF cakes and other plates) - I assume I just got all water no spores on those since there was no growth of anything at all.
I can definitely see “spores” on all my plates. Just no growth what-so-ever. It’s been 4 weeks now.
I bought 2 syringes from this “trusted vendor”… hopefully this one isn’t bunk.

Thank you, this is helpful. Sounds like a process that takes a long time, so I guess this is another place this hobby teaches patience. And why people are so very proud of those canopies they post

Hello, I'm new. I did my break and shake on my jars a week ago. Now they're fully colonized. I only have enough equipment for a few of them. Can I store the other ones somehow? I saw a video that said you could storm in the fridge for a certain amount of time. Is this possible?

If you post a pic. Someone probably could point you to the two best ones to send to fruit. I’ve heard they can be shelf stable for quite a long time. Probably longer if you put them in the refrigerator. But wait for a TC to answer.

Zlati said: Nice dense canopies are a result of 3 things:.... .... 2: Isolating your culture. When you inoculate your agar plates, you often will have multiple different mycelium colonies growing at once. If you transfer small sections from agar, you essentially zoom in on the site of the transfer and it becomes easier to zero in on a specific colony. You'll want to select the fastest growing portion for its aggressive growth. It's important to have just one colony growing on grain so it doesn't have to compete with another for nutrients and can put all its energy into producing fruits. It also helps with pinning, as the whole fruiting block will pin at pretty much the same time.
After this, you will want to clone the flesh of the best fruit, isolate the culture, and fruit it. You still won't get perfect canopies but the fruits should cluster more and more with each repetition. Eventually, around the 4-6th run of clones you will have the canopy dialed in and a decent stock of identical cultures that you can propagate to new plates to keep alive that will produce the full canopy every time. ....
Why clone an isolate?
I thought an isolate was already one set of genetics and that cloning would just be reproducing the same results.

After almost two months in fruiting, one of my brf cakes developed trich on its underside, a shroom grew from the green too! It is my first successful trich grow guys, and I am really excited. I took the cake out calmly, and just threw it in my garden, as it was night and I wasn't inclined to go out and bury it. So, my question is, do I get more points, as a newbie, for having experienced my first green encounter? It was less scary than I imagined.

when you feel comfortable in a (long sleeve) shirt mycelium is comfy too ..
edit: and contamination is often very difficult to see especially in early stages. could you take a pic?

I was under the impression that cloning helps you keep the and propagate individual fruits that like your environment and conditions, so cloning the best cluster would lead to more clustering that looked exactly the same. I do get overzealous about this shit for sure tho; it does sound like extra work.
It seems like I missed something though. Whats the best way to get full canopies?

Cloning lots of different genetics and running them all out, basically. Preferably clusters if you want a dense canopy rather than just an even pinset. You can attempt to isolate from there, but it doesn't always produce better results.
Your stuff about FAE etc. I thought was pretty on point, though I didn't read it thoroughly.
Isolation is viable too but it's a ton of work for the average hobby grower. And most of your isolates aren't going to fruit at all.
Anyway, an isolate is a single strain as you said. But, copying that single strain isn't going to harrow things down further. Subtracting from one would give you zero In this case though, you wouldn't be subtracting anything. Just copying 'one' onto a new plate with some senescence unless it mutated from UV light or bacteria or something along those lines.

Transfer this ambitious little tuft of rhizo mycelium now, or wait it out a little longer? (The backlighting makes it look like there’s a lot going on with this plate, but it’s just some condensation and sediment from my MEA mix.)
