Life is short. * 10

Enjoy it while you can. You pretty much only have about 30 good years if you're lucky. After that, people start dying like crazy, dropping like flies, and maybe you will too. You start to watch everyone you know get diagnosed with fatal illnesses.

Life expectancy used to be 40, and that's still the real life expectancy for a lot of people. Don't expect to live to be old just because you meet old people. That's the survivorship bias, you don't see all the people who died along the way.

Life is short, enjoy it while you can because it's going away a lot sooner than you think.

You wont care about all of those when you die anyway.

You wont be able to regret anything because by then, youre dead.

God damn right.

Shit is weird man.  I'm 35, and literally half the people I grew up with, or people that were fundamentally important in my life are already dead.  So many friends, family, etc. gone.

I don't know if was because of the shit hole opiate epidemic early 2000's town I grew up in or not, but so much death due to opiate OD, suicide, or accident it seems.

All I know is it seems like a miracle I'm still here, alive on planet Earth.

It really is. Cherish the years that you are Alive and Aware, on this Earth.

But Death is also not the final end. Death is just a transitional period into the next lifetime, a temporary nexus point for the Soul, a remanufacturing of Consciousness, the Ultimate Breakthru Experience into the Next Experience. The Spirit lives on after Death. The Circle of Life repeats again, both Physically and Spiritually, as the Arrow of Time keeps moving towards an Unstoppable Future.

I know a large number of people who died last few years under 50. I'm not really comfortable asking on social media "how did they die?" it seems tasteless, sometimes the post say something like donations to cancer society in lieu of flowers, but obituaries seem to be going out of style. Sometimes I message mutual friends and ask if they know anything but everyone is afraid to be the guy who asks

Right.
I agree with OP. When you are 30 you die.

I'm 48 and am the strongest, smartest, most driven, most focused, and at the best place I've ever been in my life.  I plan on keeping that going as long as possible
Some bad shit happened to my brain and body in 2023 and I had to fight thru it but I toughed it out and I'm better than ever now

So much of it is a matter of will power

No way. Who cares about people who were acquaintances in high school. They don't give a fuck about you and if they die ya it's sad but it shouldn't affect your life for the most part.

Family first.

Been trying to enjoy life and live is all

It reminds me that recently somone I know told me I've lived enough for 10 lifetimes already. Or I do really live

So I'll try to keep it going

My accident a year ago could've taken me out if things had been a little different.  It definitely gave me the advantage of knowing I
(and my family) could be stripped of everything at any moment and since I completely provide for a total of 4 people, I got really serious about taking care of my shit once I got myself back head back on straight

It was absolutely horrible while going thru it, but looking back on it now, I'm glad it happened.  It was the kick in the ass I sorely needed
