True...I guess, however interpreting the eternal into discussion involves characteristics of Yesterday. Taking prejudices into account will limit what can be said.

We may agree that the eternal coincides with our prejudices = karma (do as you would be done by)

"Am I conscious now?"

The process is refreshing from a teacher. The dialogue reminded me of in reciting mantras, sometimes I feel I wasn't conscious or aware and go back and repeat a verse to try to hear it, so I watch myself, and I realize in each present one I am there even if forgetting it seconds later.

She was never not conscious; in the forgetfulness she describes, its mark is only dukkha, the way I see it. While dukkha may be a problem, I appreciate the gradual realization than one is never not present which may in itself take care of the former. Same as the loving or appreciation.

If that is the case, what is the hateful or fearful? Do these and being present preclude each other? As she said, the presence annihilates as light to darkness.

Here is Ray Bradbury's perspective described in fiction:

When Anne had the bit in her mouth she was able to subdue the influence.

Are quotes supposed to specifically intend one meaning ? Does it depend on the quote? Can there be multiple meanings to a quote? Implying at personal interpretation here

All just random food for thought posting without thinking too much on it :tongue2:

"Can there be multiple meanings to a quote?"

Of course, as has been said, we can replace any word or words with "quichquatch".

As like, Bosco! Quichquatch! Bosco?

Here is Ray Bradbury's perspective described in fiction:

We're talking about Zen type presence and you take it to black magic possession.

Well, that is the next step.

There can be good affirming labels though with unbounded meaning.

Often our names have timeless meanings of grace and such.

I get it and you're right in that. So we are possessed in forgetfulness by the authorities say.

Standards - prejudices; alien customs resulting in different countries and languages; the Buddhist Nirvana, a rejection of life as we know it is alien to me, a selfish-seeming bandaid opiate for the downtrodden, and yet perhaps a Nirvana pyramid exists, a separate country with their own language and custom-predjudices. Sure, Christians expect to emmigrate to a different place upon death and I wouldn't deny them that if such a place exists, but here and now I wrestle with the standards and prejudices of a perspective that would have it's own way if it can, and me a neophyte saying "oops, looks like you got that wrong."

To emulate Bradbury's prose I'll say
"Why did I say that?"

It kind of goes to my perception of Nietzsche's overmaking of the duality. Are higher qualities, nirvana any less a part of nature? If spirit nature and God, nirvana are not natural, existent, well, that may be a place of disagreement, but it is none other than mind, consciousness or awareness. Can we say it's different from life?

The conjuring of a roundtable populated by an assortment of authorities is an exercise that transcends time and space...and personal beliefs.

It goes much, to me, to purification and sadhana, study, in general. Who is beyond the other, the teacher, or the conjuring authorities?

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

Within, what is superior, the very presence of oneself, or dynamics of thought? Certainly unwanted thought and its effects do not last.

In general I mean, we wake each day with some distance from what we did the day before that was unskilled. But you're right - perhaps there are personal authorities that can be more easily handled in good times, and then there are larger authorities where the mind goes into some cosmic doom, futility. Yet I realized when writing that, if taking care of the personal authorities, where are the great ones?

The the great ones
biding their time
learning to give way
to let the children play

"Who will be Napoleon
amongst us?" the children say
"Or Gandhi, or Rousseau
who's main belief is that
society corrupts the soul?"
