Shake Pan Cyan Jam spawn jars?

I have 8 quart jars of Pan Jam oats that are colonizing very quickly. Should I shake at 30% like with cubes?
Thanks!

There is a dedicated pan thread you could ask in to probably get better results. I think I remember reading one shake is fine, but some pans won't bounce back if you shake near full colonization.

Short answer is yes and I shake all my jars at around this percentage. Never had a problem. The gospel that pans don't like to be shaken comes from the phenomenon that they sometimes do not look like they are recovering well after a shake, more so if it was a late shake. My theory is that it has something to do with the rise in temperature that a lot of fast recovering mycelium is causing which can cause condensation and leaves the grain looking wet and as if not recovering. Whether that theory is true or not I can't proof but IME you don't have to worry about a poor recovery if you have sterilized your grain and inoculated it with a clean culture. If bacteria were introduced during the cultivation process then a shake could exacerbate the situation which would look somewhat similar. I have to admit that it helps to tell the difference if you are confident with the quality of your work and done a few grows.
I have made a post with a few photos about this here
You could shake only a couple or half the jars and watch how differently they behave.
