those are like 12" x 12" that gives you about a 4" work area directly in the middle. Garbage even if the filters are good.
But it's your money to waste

I wouldn't get one but to be fair it looks like the hood has a perimeter hood, allowing the entire surface area of the filter to be used. But you should definitely tough it out with a SAB until you've got a few grand for a nice hood.

I spent 2300 on my hood with shipping. (I'm not a woodworker, i didnt build it) It's not a 12x12, I have to be able to do bags. Where's a better deal on a 2x4? I could use another.

Buy a proper size hood, for that price you're going to kick yourself and justify to all of us continually saying it's just fine yet in private you will be angry withnyourself for not listening.
Or not but still... get a bigger hood.

Yeah the idea in my head was that they look like they could do some good inside a well cleaned kitchen. I cant cut holes through walls at home so I figured at least these do something. I was only going to use it for agar and needle work. Ill go with a SAB then but I really hope to be able to get one of them hoods someday. Thanks for the opinions.

You don't need to cut holes with an ffu, many of us use them. Just space it correctly from the wall and air flow is maintained.

It will work but your excitement will quickly wear off when you realize what a pain in the ass it is, working in such a tight area. Lol.

I don't got wood skills so I just bought 2 24x24s and taped up a cardboard box plenum with a fan and pre-filter box on top now I got a 2'x4' for under 400

Youre basically building a box with a fan blowing air into it. You dont need to be a carpenter to build a dang box. For 700$ you can build a 24x24 99.99 effective.

If I were you, I'd get the largest unit I could afford, and fit in my work area. You'll thank yourself for it later.
