Why so small?

Does anyone know why these Jedi mind fuck are so small? Is it just because it’s the first flush or are there things that make fruits smaller other then genetics. I circled a veil starting to break already. I’ve got a couple of them breaking already in other tubs.

Those have a good ways to go still. Surface conditions look great. The premature veils breaking isn’t a sign to harvest them in your case. Could be genetics causing it or certain conditions but I’d let those guys roll on and keep growing.

genetics is always a factor. first flush with a dense pinset are usually shorter due to shared resources. that one looks to me as though it is a mutation. so the veil hasn't "broken" in terms of harvest time. probably have another 1-3 days.

Genetics, surface conditions, bacterial contam. Many things cause small shrooms. At least you have a good pinset. Would expect to see larger, more typical genetics on the second flush.

Those look like they have another day to go. They should pop up a lot in the last 24 hours before harvest.
You'll be amazed how quickly they mature. Can't tell you the number of times I've said to myself "nah I'll harvest these in the morning" only to wake up to a spore explosion.
