Next to big stick I found positively I'd with pins, was ropes of mycelium running surface of mud
Can't always be certain without pins but it's damn good to look at these spots closely

I searched many spots, only saw this in two locations

I found a 2-headed salamander.  The heads weren't ca-joined like Siamese twins but on either side of the body.  Literally, front & back with his/hers legs facing the same directions.  I played with it for a while & it seemed not to have a dominant head.  After showing a few neighbors, I released him back in the same area that I found him/her.

Unfortunately, that was a good 25 yrs ago (damn i'm getting old) back before cell phone pics & at the time, I didn't think about taking a picture with my camera.  Wish I had tho.

Why does something want to tell me the yellower pin from the same cluster in these 2 pictures that may to be currently brewing into some pin tea for ovoideocoffee is an agrocybe or something despite the ovoid smell and bluing, even if not as blue as the others? I know they are not the best phone pics, but you probably can see what I mean or am I just high?

The gills blued a little when I sliced it and others in the cluster look a bit different than the usual ones in my area so I threw it in the coffee, but damn does it seem sneaky and make me feel like keeping a better eye out for imposters when they start fruiting everywhere here soon.

If those are in a private spot, go to Dollar Tree and get a cheap wire waste basket and put it upside down over top of them. I do that whenever puffballs pop up in my yard. They are coated with something so won’t rust quickly.

Question for yall. As I understand it, picking shrooms from golf courses is a bad idea. However, i've found a couple great streams to explore, the only concern being their proximity to golf courses.

This one spot is 300 yards give or take from a golf course with a creek running through it which feeds into the main creek. My concern is that fertilizers and whatever -icides they've been using will leak into floodwaters, contaminating the habitat downstream. That can't mean all the habitat downstream is fucked right? If thats true, how far from the said course might i find non contaminated ovoids? Is this even a concern?

I personally wouldn't be concerned in the least.  They probably pick up more toxic bullshit and heavy metals growing in wood patches in the city and no one ever bats an eye.

Its best just to start your own patches once you find the mycelium.

If there is some way to assay what has been bioaccumilated in mushrooms this would make for an awesome study with a concrete answer on how far pesticides travel into a watershed before being absorbed and filtered out by said watershed. As someone who has studied on pesticides and bioaccumilation I would personally not touch any mushrooms near golf courses without a solid answer to your really good question.

I'm honestly kind of shocked at how afraid of golf courses y'all are but literally no one bats an eye at them coming out of roadside patches.

( I cud smell the activity in them plus see )
* was the best 👌 ever too * pure visuals and laughter till crying

I'd eat filipino roadside shrooms anyday as long as not next to outdoor bathroom
