Wanted somewhere to dump a few pictures of what I've been learning quietly from you guys the past few months. I started with premade bags and just injected a ms syringe. I later found out this was bad practice and my large monotub only yielded a couple of grams before dying to trich. Which i posted a thread asking questions about.
I then decided to do lots of research and found pf tek to be the most simple, i bought my self a pressure cooker and all the supplies and this is their progress. Injected with ms jedi mind fuck, 27/1.

I've also made some bigger pint jars injected a couple of days later. Albino penis envy revert

Decided to also do agar and make my own grain bag with plans to do grain jars in future because I've found bags suck to work with.

Finally my complete set up

Nice work! Researching and following teks to the letter is best thing for anyone getting started. Looks like a pretty short time to pivot in the right directions.
You should take the pf tek jars and plates, if they're wrapped, out of the bags. My plates sit wrapped in parafilm in the open on a shelf. Grain and BRF jars too, as they have filters keeping bad shit out.
Next thing you know, you'll be swan diving into an ever growing pile of your own shrooms like you're Scrooge McDuck. Shroom McDuck?

Thanks for the reply!, The plates are sat on top of a bag, and the jars are in an open bag as my room gets quite dusty and just wanted to minimize it as much as I could without choking my jars out. Enjoying learning a lot and cant wait to have that horrible problem of having too many shrooms.
Heres 12hrs growth on one of the jars π

Mycelium looks nice and healthy for the most part! The cloudiness in the pint jars is something to monitor.
Heads up though, the cake in the glass jar will be difficult--if not impossible--to birth whole. Judging from the pictures, this jar has a lip on the inside, meaning the cake will not slide out easily. This isn't an issue in the long run, so long as you plan to break the cake up, grate it, and spawn to coco in a shoebox-like container.
I followed this tek and I was very happy with the results.
I'm excited to watch this progress. Good luck!

The lip isn't too substantial and I'm hoping ill be able to get the cakes out without too much damage. I plan on breaking 3 of the cakes up into a small tub mixed with CVG and fruit 2 of the cakes in mini SGFC bags I'm experimenting with.

I hope they pop out nice and easy for you!
My advice would be to hold off on buying or constructing anything to specifically fruit whole cakes, just in case you don't end up with any whole cakes. It sounds like the SGFC bags are pretty cheap and easy though!
Whatever you do, please do not make a standard SGFC. Water tubs are easier to put together and less work to maintain, resulting in better outcomes.
Also, I'm sure there are some instances where vermiculite or gypsum provides some benefit, but I would suggest using only properly hydrated coco coir as your sub. Fewer ingredients means it will be cheaper and easier for you too!

I have the tools on hand with gypsum and vermiculite, as I've used them before on other small projects. Same with bags and other supplies. I might experiment with straight coir versus a CVG mix. I'm sure it's been done thousands of times before, and I could save some time with some research, but half the fun is experimentation and finding out for yourself.
