Ran pressure cooker for five hours
    #28657857 - 02/13/24 02:29 AM (10 months, 28 days ago)

I am an idiot, and fell asleep while pressure cooking 10 2 pound bags of rye grain. 4 1/2 hours later, I awoke, shut it off let it cool down, and there was still water in the bottom, but the bags look a little soggy. Is this green still viable?

Can’t imagine why they’d be soggy unless water was getting into them but otherwise you should be fine, they’re just extra sterilised.

They always come out a bit “soggy” and clears up as it dries. I usually take them out and spread the grain around in the bag to let them dry out. I Flip them over once and hour or so until it dries

I run a burner with a timer built into it.  Bought it off eBay from someone who got it for camping and never used it.

Once it's at a stable pressure, I can walk away from it.

Glad everything was okay though.  I clicked on the thread to see how bad the damage was.  Did you shit bricks when you woke up and realized what happened?

Lol you're really lucky that there was still some water.
You could end up with fire or at least fucked up PC.
Grain itself should be okay.

Don't worry mate, what you're gonna feel is a slight burning in your heart, your lungs, your brain, your kidneys, your liver, bottom of your feet, your eyeballs, then you start bleeding from your nose and ears, then you start tripping out and seeing everything in the form of an anime cartoon which is really fucking cool.
