Hey guys,
Want to stop having grows in my bedroom, will prevent contam and also don’t want it just sat there
Moving it to a large cupboard.. what’s the best artificial lighting? There is just your standard light fixture in there but think it’ll be too bright
Hoping I can just buy a different type of bulb instead of installing a light strip

Normal 6500k works fine but even a basic incandescent bulb works as well.
More importantly, how is growing in your cupboard going to prevent contam?

They make, 6500k bulbs (daylight).
You can't really have too many lumens (brightness) as far as I know, as long as your light is far enough away that it's not cooking your grow.
One of the TCs said he runs about 1000 lumens per tote. I think most people get away with a lot less than that.
But there's evidence that even without heat, light causes evaporation (this has been proven on the surface of hydrogels but yet to be confirmed elsewhere).
And mycelium uses light in ways similar to people (vitamin D production and setting circadian rhythms). They do this even on grains, so you can give them light there too, but a lot of people don't.
Edit: Beaten but leaving for the lumen info.

Tbh I haven’t had contam yet but thought maybe being less in the room is helpful, but mostly I just want to keep it hidden away!

Hidden is a good reason.
But, fae is important and growing in a cupboard means less of that.
If you need discreet grows, check out these threads. You can get psilocybin from jars. No tubs needed.

A simple 6500K LED bulb should do you fine depending on the size of your cabinet. I've been using an 11W 1100 lumen LED bulb from SunLite to light up my cabinet, but I only keep 8 6qt tubs in there.
