My thought on this is that a bumper sticker is not a legal document and if your lawyer doesn't get any evidence from that search thrown out he sucks and you need a new lawyer.

If we can't win at least we can fuck with them. Get a sticker from somebody and scan it. Photoshop the scan so it looks good, but remove any permissions to the police, etc. Print the damn thing out and glue it to your car.
If you ever get searched, and the police reference the sticker as a waiver of rights, your high priced lawyer can point out that the sticker isn't what the police think it is and hopefully get any evidence found during the search tossed.
Doubt it would work, but still an interesting idea.

If a girl wears a shirt that says "I suck cock" it doesn't give me the right to run up and shove my dick in her mouth. I think any lawyer worth a shit could show that a sticker doe not constitue a waiver of rights. hell it isn't even signed and dated. Anyone could have slapped that sticker on there, even the cop himself on his way up to your window.

On a similar note. web page Quote:
Combat Auto Theft Program (CAT) Vehicle owners can join this no-cost program by signing a consent form allowing deputies to stop their vehicle if it is being driven on public roadways between the hours of 1-5 a.m. Participants will receive a black and yellow sticker to place in the lower left corner of their car's rear window. This decal is easily seen by patrol deputies AND auto thieves. When a patrol deputy sees a CAT decal on a car during the approved times, the deputy will stop the driver and ask for proof of identity and ownership. This program is jointly sponsored by the Sheriff's Office and AAA Auto Club South

Not only that but what if I leave a bar at closing time, that sticker instantly targets me for a free pullover and interuption of guiltfree sex with some chick I hardly even know. Not to mention a buzz killing DWI to match.
Oh yeah! let me be the First to put one of those on my vehicle.

I saw the opposite of that on a business card. It said something to the effect of:
"I do not consent to any search of my person, vehicle, or possessions."
"I choose to remain silent."
and some more such stuff. The idea is you just hand it to the cop with your ID when you're getting hounded.

I just talked to my dad(a lawyer) about this, and he says that such a bumper sticker, while not legally binding, would imply consent to search your car, and you would need to explicitly specify that the officer does not have permission to search your car.

That program is a good one. There is no pressure to sign up for that one where I live. Little old ladies get them because they never have their car out past 10, so it makes their car undesireable to steal late at night(when a lot of car theft occurs).
As far as this program goes, I'm sure the sticker is just an indication that you have in fact filled out the proper paperwork to allow searches. I could be wrong. Big difference between allowing cops to search you for no reason and telling the cops to pull over your car if it's being driven when you don't.

Yeah, by the same logic the "search me" stickers are good for old ladies too because they never carry drugs.
I say the constitutional protections we have are what pisses them off and they are trying like hell to get everyone to go along with just discarding them one or two at a time.
Fuck that! They're YOUR rights, I say KEEP THEM, old lady or not.

Don't be stupid. Saying "search when you feel like it" and " please pull over my car after midnight because theres a 90% chance its not me driving" are totally different. Getting searched does NOTHING for the owner of the sticker. Getting your car pulled over in the middle of the night might get you your car back and discourage people from taking it.

Yes, but I don't like the general direction of all of this "Take my rights back please." bullshit.
There are some signs around where I live at certain stores that say " Hey cops come on in here and tell whoever you wan't to leave."

The car signs around here have been here a long time(no slippery slope). But as I said in my first post, these search stickers serve no purpose. Would you be opposed to a senior citizen couple being allowed to obtain a sticker saying" If it's not a senior driving this car then it's stolen"?
Of course the people getting these stickers are positive they won't be in the car during these times, unless they are stupid. It's a bigger headache having a car stolen then having to drive to the airport in the middle of the night one time in 5 years only to be pulled over and prove you are who you are.
