Help please! Complete Noob - contamination?

Hi This is my first attempt at a grow kit, I bought a sterilised popcorn kit and thought I had done everything right to prevent contamination. After inoculation, the jars have been left in a dark cupboard with the lids on for just about 2 weeks now. I’m not seeing any mycelium just this strange liquid. I’m not sure if this is contamination, or part of the process? Any advice please? Is this kit for the bin? Many thanks 🙏

That's contaminated, we don't leave anything in the dark fyi. It's not.the issue, just pointing it out.
Explain your process here.

Thought so, anything I can do to save it or should I just bin it? The other jar also has liquid in but much less. The kits came with the jar lids covered in foil and then wrapped in cling film. I inoculated in the bathroom after having given it a thorough clean. I washed my hands and wrists disinfectant soap, the put on the latex gloves provided. I then unwrapped the jars and gave them a wipe with disinfectant wipes. I then flamed the syringe until red hot, allowed to cool and inoculated in the centre of the jar. I did this by taking the rubber plug out of the larger hole in the jar lids. I replaced the plug immediately. The jar lids have three holes covered in tape and then a larger hole with a rubber plug. Then I just put in a cupboard (which I had wiped down with disinfectant wipes) and left alone. I left in the most temperate stable room in the house. The templature does fluctuate a little because I don’t have heater mat and I love ina warm country so temp is between 20 degrees and 24 degrees C

That is beyond salvation.
Actually contamination at the grain is 99.9% a startover point. I think i've seen one group of jars in the past 4 months i would describe as mildly bacterial that could have maybe been spawned individually to get a couple fruits.
What process did you follow?
Edit: sorry, just saw you bought these premade.
I think you're supposed to inject right through the "plug". Not remove it.
Regardless though the contamination looks like it started at the bottom which to me kind of points to incomplete sterilization but thats just a guess.

Thanks for the input. I’ll ditch the popcorn. If I sterilise the jars properly, I can use them again right? I’m going to try again using brown rice and will see if I can thrift a pressure cooker for sterilisation

Ps - I just opened up the 2nd jar to chuck it away and it looks like this. Not sure if this is mould or mycelium? The greenish spot makes me think it’s the former Thanks

Yeh that plug is an injection port, you shouldn't have removed it.
Popcorn is ass, let alone buying a pre-made jar.
