Spawn - mycelium spreading slowed down - is it too wet?

I have two monotubs, put my spawn bag into substrate 12 days ago for both using mastersmix
2kg hardwood dust 2kg soya hulls 5kg water
tub1 goldens teacher tub2 unknown cube.
2 questions
1)The goldens teacher started spreading fast but now seems to have slowed down alot, despite only covering 60% of the substrate, is this normal, or sounding like a problem? I assumed growth to speed up not slow down.
GT Pics

2)The unknown species has been very slow, and the mycelium structure is very different to goldens teacher, its very dense blobs that are not possible to see through, located at different parts of the tub. Whereas the GT mycelium structure is fine webs that you can see the substrate through the web. Again, is this normal or a sign of a problem?

Thanks guys

move this thread to mush cultivation and you'll get more answers...
Cubensis don't grow on mastersmix masters mix is enriched sawdust
Don't use wood or sawdust with cubensis; in a monotub most use a coco coir mix.

Ive found the reason for the slowed growth - or one of - wherever condensation is dripping, the mycelium is dying.
Its doing well in non-drip areas.
Wondering if my sub is too wet?
As for masters mix and cubensis, im sure i read it was possible, is it 100% not possible to fruit cubensis with mm?

It's not entirely impossible I guess but it's not a good substrate for cubensis.
Have you at least pasteurized the lot?
Photos would be good.

Think I really need to see a picture but I'm wondering where you got the suggestion to fruit on hardwood dust? Water doesn't "kill" cubensis mycelium. We grow out these things called "liquid cultures" and store spores in water as well as culture samples.

il try sort photos
mastersmix was recommended on some blogs/online articles.
As for why i asked if sub was too we - because up to day 12, the mycelium network was looking alive and thriving(ie erected strands etc)
After day 12 the erected strands are no longer, they have lost life and just collapsed into the damp lump, they dont look "alive" anymore.

Your description doesn't help. Post photos like others mentioned and we will probably tell you what is the problem.
The best would be picture of agar, picture of grains and picture of tub.

UPDATE: Added pics to my first post, showing the 3d-blob nature of the unknown strain, and the transparent web-like structure of GT

I'm curious to hear what the experts think about the unknown strain. I have something similar growing as well!
Unfortunately, I have no additional insight to answer your questions apart from what has already been said about the substrate these were spawned to.
