Speaking of pucks, these two plates and pucks were germed from the same print on the same day 17 days ago. Used a Golden Teacher print to do plates using a loop and two swabs dipped in sterile water and wiped on print to pucks. One puck is germinating so far.

Derp, I meant "BRF puck", for some reason I thought they were synonymous.
I've got a very bacterial clone that I transferred yesterday. Hopefully at least one of the transfers is contam-free, otherwise I'll try throwing it onto a BRF or wheat puck.

Plate read, please?
First-ever LME + yeast plates. For LAGM, I transferred from my spore smear plate to this T1 yeast plate using a needle biopsy. Transferred myc sample smaller than a grain of rice. This is day two. The growth looks too much to me. Mold? I've never used yeast plates, don't know what to expect. Thanks in advance.

I have growth like this on a T1 from a clone plate. Looks like cube myc trying to figure out who it wants to be when it grows up to me.

So since I started doing pours, I've noticed that my mycelium has been on the wispier side.
They seem to be clean, they pin, no sign of mold, and I've done a few transfers. But even when I grab rhizo looking fgrowth, I get more peach fuzz.
For example, this one started fine, but went like this

I'm at T2 with this one, but T1 seemes to be pinning.

Things that might be the case, please let me know:
1- I am dumb and this stuff is highly bacterial/ the sauce containers are NOT good enough for agar.
2- Low nutrients in the agar. It's actually just boil water from oats and agar. Maybe I should adapt my recipe, go back to use the pastyplates variety? Apparently you need to stir pour agar to not let the nutrients settle? oooops?
3- Colder temperatures. The room they are in is closer to 18ish degrees. Could that slow down growth or create lazier looking myc?
4- This is totally fine and nothing to worry about.
I put some plates on some millet jars, half plate each. They are taking forever it seems. How long do your agar jars take to colonize? I can fortunately see some growth, but its been a week.

They grow up so fast, don't they? The toddler, the brother and the original spore streak. I promise I won't use blue agar again

Waaaaay too much. Actually, that is not the problem. My wife gave me some coloring powder she uses for icing of cakes. That stuff is like glitter. I used less than fits on the tip of a teaspoon handle, and I cleaned up blue from kitchen surfaces for a week. That stuff is like trich - you have no idea how it got to where it is, yet, there it is! I worked as carefully as I can but my hands were blue for days. It didn't wash off, I think the color disappeared as my skin got replaced through normal biological processes That stuff should be classified as a biological weapon.

Hey ya'll, This is my first post on this holy grail of mushroom knowledge so I apologize in advance if I sound like a newb. In any case, I currently have 2 agar plates of gt and b+ that were inoculated via LC syringes that were left over from grain jars that are about 85% colonized. Now I'll admit I used WAY too much LC, I realize a drop will do but it was the last of the LC and I couldn't aim well in my SAB.
Agar report please? Should I take a transfer from one of the white puffy bits? Thank you

APE from a (purchased) MSS that had germinated... to basically an LC to agar. This is the first transfer.

Excellent first post. Starting on agar early and ready to learn. I agree with LadysKnight. Start getting some transfers from the outer edges of those puff balls and watch for clean symmetrical growth. As you mentioned, for future, use as little liquid inoculant on the plates as possible. Then they will have more rooms to grow out away from the inoculation points on the germ plate and it will be easier to identify places to transfer from on the germination plate. And you can save the rest for more plates later. But you are good to get several transfers now and make your selections on the next plates.
