It's just all so ridiculous.
Making matters worse, Germany's economy is in the tubes because of it. Their industry is dying and there are few job prospects. Turns out, a healthy economy needs cheap energy. Now they're paying what double? Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
Yes it's a good parable on why it's a bad idea for countries to be too reliant on countries whose geopolitical aims are incompatible in the first place.

Yes, I got you. Gilligan, or rather the actor that played that character, died in 2020.
But more than that, your jokes are hardly worth snoring over.

Lol . That was great , thanks for that . - I didn't see any war mongering . What I saw was a man trying to help a country defend itself from Russian aggression. Even the terminology used in both of the videos you posted is defensive . No talk of invading Russia or anything like that .

Meanwhile 12 of the rocket scientists on the hypersonic missile program are arrested and 3 of them already dead.
This other guy, can't remember his name was going to be an "approved candidate" in the Russian election, but he's the only one against the war, and becoming too popular. Looks like they're taking him off the approved list, and he'll have to drop out.
People are freezing in the cities, even when they have fuel, because the Soviet era central heating systems are falling apart. It's just like Soviet times with all the resources going to war/defense.

It's true. The Ukrainian army in 2014-2015, despite some early victories, was comprehensively defeated by a militia comprised mostly of Ukrainian army -some of whom were former Soviet officers- and SBU defectors, former miners and other randos who joined the revolt.
By the end of hostilities in 2015 the DPR militia had amassed a pretty large treasure trove of captured AFU artillery and tanks. At the start of the war they were totally outgunned but by the end had managed to turn it around. Strelkov once complained that the Russians didn't help them "with one rifle or bullet".
There were volunteers from Russia who joined the militia but they did not come in an official capacity. I remember thinking at the time how pathetic it was that Ukraine had to make up so much propaganda about how they were "fighting Russia" when in reality they were fighting their own former citizens, whom they had managed to alienate by attempting to kill them repeatedly.
Back in 2014 the Russians only had the balls to go for Crimea, and ignored the rest of the country. That was because Crimea was of a vital strategic nature. And it was taken almost without firing a shot, with overwhelming support from the local population.
In-fact, it was Russia who stopped the DPR militia from going even further with their territorial gains by strongarming them into the Minsk agreements in 2015. At the time the AFU was on the backfoot, badly crippled and almost zero armored vehicles remaining in their inventory. The DPR militia wanted to go on the offensive and take a bunch of land as the AFU at the time could not have stopped it. But Russia put a stop to it with Minsk. And now the Russians themselves have to fight for the same territory.
It's all so ironic. Putin would later admit that he made a mistake with Minsk and should have gone into Ukraine proper in 2014, when they hardly had a capacity to fight back.
By the way, found this little gem from CNN. They actually reported on how the Ukrainian army was slaughtering civilians in Donetsk in 2014. This was before they ordered a media blackout. Turns out you can try to hide the truth but can never cover it completely.
I followed the Ukraine war in 2014 very closely as that was when I realized how fucked the US and its foreign policy and regime change operations actually were. It's kinda crazy how different the war was back then. Neither side really used drones all that much and it was not covered nearly as extensively as the war is now. Random battles would be uploaded to youtube and that was about it.

I don't see how this is propaganda. It's a statue in Russia commemorating an event in their history more or less the same as how it actually went down.
The takeover of Crimea was an almost completely bloodless invasion. The Ukrainian army soldiers on the peninsula simply surrendered. They did not attempt armed resistance.
Very smart of them. And the locals, well, they were quite happy about it.

Weird because the free market was supposed to help Russia. Almost like the former Soviet state apparatus was sold off for scraps and now is run by gangsters.
The 1990 sclerotic USSR economy is an extremely low bar.

You still have to help yourself in a free market . Maybe it was just a bad idea in a country full of people used to depending on the govt .

Sure, it ended poorly, but what’s important is that the Russian people decided to embrace capitalism and democracy.
Oh wait, they didn’t. Gorbachev literally shelled parliament and dissolved the USSR against the will of its people.
