A place to post your progress with different species on agar. It is interesting to see the various types of growth isolated from different cultivators!
Here is a list of some of my species on LME/Peptone agar (with a few on Difco R2A agar as labelled). My recipe is 10g LME, 5g peptone, and 50mg gentamycin per liter distilled water.
Psilocybe alutacea:

Psilocybe baeocystis:

Psilocybe banderillensis:

Psilocybe cyanescens:

Psilocybe caeruleoannulata:

Psilocybe fagicola:

Psilocybe gandalfiana (aff. Hopii):

Psilocybe xgriseocaerulea:

Psilocybe heimii:

Psilocybe hispanica (= fimetaria):

Psilocybe hoogshagenii:

Psilocybe indica:

Psilocybe keralensis (needs confirmation, sect. Zap from India):

Psilocybe liniformans:

Psilocybe muliercula:

Psilocybe neoxalapensis:

Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata:

Psilocybe cf. papuana:

Psilocybe pelliculosa:

Psilocybe semilanceata:

Psilocybe serbica:

Psilocybe cf. subaeruginascens:

Psilocybe yungensis:

Going to jump in with some pictures I have now, add more later as things continue to come in and grow out. Thanks for the thread scapo this will be fun and informative, sometimes Iβm sitting here thinking everything looks fucked just to realize itβs fine after seeing others. Not to mention it will be fun to see the diversity!

Excellent growth! Iβd love to see a handful of these as they colonize more!
I can already see patterns in certain species as well

Just watching. BTW, to the OP, isn't 50mg/Liter of Gentamicin way too much while 15mg/L is easily an overkill dose?

Where did you find that 15mg/L is too much?
I have been using 50 no problem so far

Anything in the genus Psilocybe, with a strong preference for the non-cubensis species. Looks great!

Recommended concentration for many common antibiotics are given in many articles. I'm sure whatever protection the media gains from such high doses, is also gained from even 6mg/L. More slows down myc growth and recovery (beside weakening it against bacterial competition, later on).
And, to respect the thread title:

Interesting! In my experience, I do not think it slows down myc growth much (if at all). Very recently, I had ran out of gentamycin and did not use it in my agar. I thought hey, maybe I don't need it, so I made agar without it for almost 2 months. There are some plates in my comment with agar plates that do not have gentamycin in them and you would not be able to tell if I did not mention it.
I generally saw the same rate of growth from the myc across the board with all the species I'm working with on my recipes with and without gentamycin. I did notice a difference in speed when using different nutrients for sure (LME/Peptone vs R2A agar for example). I ended up getting more gentamycin and started using it again a couple weeks ago because I got spores of some new species and it helps a lot with reducing risk on germination plates from wild spores.
Perhaps it is toxic at a point though, not sure where that point is yet
