Guess that shit really works. It fucking poured rain where we are at the last 2-3 days (Orange County). Guess it’s part of an ongoing project/experiment - at least that’s what it says on the city site.
Anyone else here see planes doing that in their area? I didn’t think we needed rain

Assuming you're talking about OC in so-cal and not in Florida or another state...Cloud seeding or not, there would have been rain.
If you're in the OC in so-cal...A massive plume/pipeline of moisture trekking across the pacific has been slamming the entire state of cali. This winter is also coinciding with an "el nino" and a relatively strong one the last I checked a few months ago (warm ocean, most strong el nino winters so-cal gets a ton of rain).
There's more on the way for so-cal tomorrow. I know the Santa Barbara area is going to get hammered with 5+ inches of rain and 40+mph winds/60+mph gusts. I don't live down there anymore but the storm that's about to hit so-cal reminds me of a storm that hit so-cal when I as a kid back in the winter of 98, which was also an el nino winter.
Cloud seeding is a thang, no doubt...I just feel these juicy storms were on their way regardless and don't know how big of an impact cloud seeding would have played in the amount of precip that fell.

Ah I remember when cloud seeding and other weather modification technologies were just a "conspiracy theory"...how the times have changed. I look forward to seeing which other conspiracy theories turn out to be true. I for one hope sasquatch is real.

I was about to say, geoengineering used to be a Conspiracy Theory!

Prwtty soon the Gov is gonna admit about those pesky chemtrails! (just kiddin')
Oh Bigfoot's definitely real, even the Government knows but keeps it a well-guarded secret. Probably wont hear about that one going public for awhile....

The fact that cloud seeding exists has never been a conspiracy theory. It doesn’t really work, and I’m very doubtful it is done in the US. Certainly they are not cloud seeding California right now. That would be insane, there’s already too much rain

Idk about cloud seeding but I remember watching some local weather news thing online in the US somewhere and a military base near by had EXTREMELY strange weather phenomena happen on weather radar(near the military complex) but the conclusion was it was some confidential test probably as they never never gave an official statement when questioned....no way to say if it was cloud seeding or not but they for shit sure are messing with SOMETHING

You could see persistent contrails, probably running perpendicular to air currents, in front of cloud banks.

It’s just putting small particulates into clouds to nucleate condensation. They spray silver iodide solutions because light causes the reduction of the silver ion back to metallic silver, which results in a tiny particle of silver for raindrops to grow on. It really only works in very limited situations when the amount of moisture is not quite enough to produce rain. Higher amounts of moisture will rain on its own and slightly less and the cloud seeding won’t work. Even if it does work, if the air is too dry at the surface, any rain provided will evaporate before hitting the ground.
There’s also the issue where if you make rain in one location you are essentially stealing it from somewhere else. And sliver iodide is not cheap. It’s the same light sensitive chemical that is used in film.
I would be very surprised if there are any commercial or government cloud seeding operations in the US. It’s kinda a dumb idea that people toyed with 50 years ago, but it just doesn’t work very well.

If the entire earth came together how long do you think it would take for humanity to fully control the weather?

Contrails form at altitudes much higher than than rain forming clouds. Aside from thunderstorms, which are moisture plumes from lower levels of the atmosphere, weather doesn’t happen much above 20,000 feet. Temperatures are just too cold and pressures too low for the upper troposphere to hold any significant amount of water vapor.

Yeah in So-Cal. And youre not wrong that its probably a coincidence that it rained right after we saw some planes seeding. Its raining like a motherfucker even still. We have had to bust out our sump pump which is pretty rare, and actually unfortunate timing as I am doing some digging in our front yard to install pavers. The fucking area keeps filling up which concerns me for excess water leaking under our slab.

Dumb idea I agree - I don't like the idea of silver iodide, or other chemicals being put into our atmosphere right above a highly populated city. That shit spreads all over the place too.
https://sawpa.gov/santa-ana-river-watershed-weather-modification/
We have seen the planes in the sky doing it just recently, maybe a few days ago. And I guess theres quite a few other non-socal areas where theyre hitting the sky hard with this stuff. Weird I dont recall this being a ballot issue or anything, suddenly theres just planes spraying these chemicals in the sky above us
Man, 4 years of this nonsense

Never. The amount of energy required to produce enough water vapor from liquid water at the surface to produce a small thunderstorm is probably greater than all the energy produced in the US for days or weeks. The scale of what you are suggesting is massive.
I was flying across the country once and saw the plume from the cooling towers of a nuclear power plant extend downwind for 30-40 miles. Just a long, narrow contrail with a slight dusting of snow underneath. It was cold and there was patches of fog here and there so the atmosphere was already primed.
Imma go and calculate how much energy is required to vaporize enough water to produce 2” of rain over 10 square miles.
