Grow kits for a beginner?

I had access to psychedelics the past few years but have since lost my connection. I'm having some issues with depression and could really use some medicine to help me get through some things in life. I've looked into growing shrooms and was wondering if anyone could help me with grow kit recommendations. I found this one but not sure if it would have everything I really need?

Any advice is appreciated ๐๐๐

Its a waste of money.
All you need for a solid grow is the following:
1. Clean culture 2. Clean grain spawn 3. Substrate 4. A box to mix and fruit the above (2 & 3) 5. 5600K LED lights 6. Some water

Why do you want a kit? How did you find the Shroomery?

So you don't necessarily need a heated pad or anything to keep them warm?

No. Heating pads actually make things worse. They may promote bacterial growth.
Room temp is fine.

In the end itยดs totally up to you, if you wanna spend a hundred bucks for most likely contaminated spawn, and a bunch of useless tools, besides a sterlite tub and the led light.
Why donยดt you just jump on here?
I promise, if you go for the growkit, weยดll see you later in the contam thread
By the way heating mats/pads/bats whatever dry out your substrate from the bottom in first instance. About 19ยฐC youยดre all good, even much less. Itยดs partial heating and has no benefits for our needs.
Make decisions, and make good ones

Have you checked out the Sponsors forum yet?

If you go kit, make sure not to do syringe straight to grain or grow bag. Syringes should only go to agar plates or PF Tek jars.
If you go DIY, i suggest the PF Tek. Its the simpliest and cheapest method.
Sweet name by the way!

What they're are not telling you, technogirl, is if you start from scratch and DIY, you may become addicted to this hobby. Growing mushrooms from spore to fruit is such a beautiful one too. Very simple, the possibilities are endless, but a good beginners guide followed to a T will get you making homerun grows every time. Pick one of these fellows agar guide and post growth in the Official agar thread to double check your culture for contams before moving it to Grains. Good luck whatever you decide to do

In the past I did the syringe into the bag on a couple of occasions and I never understood why because I thought this was how you were supposed to do it. Looks like I have lots of reading to do but Ive gotta learn this and I'm sure once I get something to fruit it'll be way more fun. Thanks for the music recommendations btw ๐

Checked out the guide a bit. Would you recommend the mason jars or dollar tree container for a first time grower? Also, is there a video version of the guide as well? I'm sure I'll have more questions as time goes on and I'm in no rush to start this weekend but I'll probably start grabbing some of the things on the list here and there.

Ah ok, definitely no heating mat then. From what I've read the hotter the room the better. My apt stays at about 74-78 degrees so I'm guessing good temps for mushies.

74 degrees is perfectly fine.
I would not go over 78, because that'll invite mold.

I mean, it will work, but its super risky as spore syringes are rarely clean and pure. Thats why agar is used, to clean up spore print or spore syringes and remove infectious microbes that can ruin a mushroom grow.
No prob on the music recs. Enjoy
Far as i know, there isnt any video guides, just well-written text and photo guides.

Just a little story about spores to grain.
I did this for my first bulk grow and did fine.
For my second I decided to scale up and spent a whole weekend prepping and PCing grain jars. I followed the same process and sprayed spores into 20 jars.
All of them grew mold right down the drip pattern of the solution.
I almost cried.

Have a look here, some may be little out of date, but perfect to get basic knowledge.
