I quit smoking weed 2

I started to get nervous about this rattling in my chest. I dont want to get COPD and have to carry oxygen or get lung cancer. Its been a week of no cannabis, after 35 years of constant smoking. I'm kind of bored but my lungs are quieter and I stopped falling asleep for no reason. I might eat edibles once in a while but I barely even felt weed, no matter how much i smoked. Even extracts I was doing another dab 15 minutes after last one and barely feeling it, it was closer to smoking a cig, i was just doing it out of habit. Decided I shouldnt drink for a while while i'm adjusting because i don't want to just replace vices. I still plan to do psychedelics once a month.
It sucks that weed has never been cheaper or easier to get I can see the dispensary from my window, 30 years ago I had to risk my freedom to get it, call people I didn't like, the whole thing, now its everywhere and I don't want it.
Having super vivid dreams. I'm not eating more or less. I seem to have more boners lol.
Anyone else a quitter?

I've quite about a year ago. Smoked/vape regularly for many years, but I always tried to keep consumption on the low end.
Anyway, initially I missed it. Now I am fine and don't miss it at all. It takes a few months till it felt like my body reached homeostasis or got used to go without THC.

My partner and I are both wanting to at least take a break, if not stop completely.
I'm down to the last couple of bowls out of my last bag (I've been the instigator in the heavy consumption so it's my stuff, though we both are smoking it).
Anyway, really over being caught in the cycle of consumption with it. Figured I'd check the physical and well-being section to get some clearer perspectives/support.

It is definitely doable if you really want to quit. If you both want to stop for a while you could support each other, it might even strengthen the relationship between the two of you.
I for one found myself contemplating whether I should have a little vape initially. Just a little one. In the end cannabis is one of the few things you can do many, many years and still remain a perfectly functional member of society. At least if you don't overdo it.
But now a year later I know that was the voice of the habit trying to lure me back in... and I am glad I didn't give in, as I am feeling just as good as I did when I enjoyed it regularly.
To everyone who tries to get rid of the habit, I wish you all the best.
Also don't beat yourself up, if you quit quitting.
Edit: Viraldrome, how are you doing so far?

I'm day 2 today. I regularly quit but usually 2-4 weeks at a time, though id like to get to a point where Im not looking forward to it again. Either way, it's my first break of 2024. Going roller skating today to fill the day with some activity. Best of luck to all quitting too!

Thanks for asking, two weeks since my last toke I haven't broken. I think I am over the hump. My lungs before were so loud i could hear them when i had earplugs in, its gotten way better. My neighbor was like "I thought you were dead when I didnt hear the coughing". I don't think I will be going back, I'm going to turn my remaining stash into edibles, though i am giving it a few months until eat one, or I will give it away.
This will probably end up with my changing careers since i can pass drugs tests now. It's foolish to work a shit job just so you can toke, I tried to justify it with "drug tests are bullshit" and they are, but I now it just seems like a 2 minute invasion of my privacy in exchange for more money. It seems worth it.
I think I was in denial before really, it limits a lot life, where i could work, where I could live, who I could date. Not one of those things is better with cannabis. I quit for health reasons but I'm seeing the benefits in other areas. Sure I only spent 100 bucks a month on it, but 1200 a year is 12 thousand a decade. I was never smoke a joint a week person, it was always daily, alcohol I can limit my intake, but weed I found it impossible to be occasional user.
Its caused problems too, the bars i was banned because i smoked in their parking lot, the jobs i got in trouble, the notes from landlord about the smell. I almost got stabbed buying it on street when i traveled, I don't to worry about scoring it in places i don't know anyone. Hell the risk of buying it off the street in foreign nations is insane, but I did everywhere I went. In fact if the first thing I did when the plane landed, went out to look for weed. It's a lot of hassles and not a lot of pluses.
Thanks for reading, hope i dont come off as pot hater I don't care what other people do, i can be around it and it doesn't bother me

Congrats on making some changes!
Today is my quit day. Been cutting way down. Have some PEA coming this morning (it's an endocannabinoid that modulates the system, helps get it back to homeostasis).
Looking forward to more mental clarity and hopefully an improvement in pain symptoms once I'm over the hump and back to taking care of myself instead of smoking weed all day.

I take a lion's mane supplement. But more for the nerve pain I live with.
I have some turkey tail growing out front. Maybe I should clone it and grow it. I want to get more into growing non-psychoactive medicinals anyway.

I have been struggling to quit because I get bad withdrawals...ita funny because I quit ciga and meth twice but weed gives the worst withdrawal. That and I get triggered by everything and become a nervous wreck one days I try not to smoke. But I know better sleep can be achieved by not smoking and clearer mind. I've been doing it 20 years now

I'm on day one. Took PEA this morning. Cravings are way down from trying to raw dog it last week.
It's good for inflammation too.
This is the bottle I got . It's a two month supply. The $25 bottles all had shit reviews or a one month supply.
Wikipedia article
Anyway, it's a hormone. I.e. endocannabinoid not a cannabinoid. It helps cb receptors modulate and seems to help a lot with withdrawal.
I'm not a super heavy smoker but heavy enough. Last half ounce lasted less than two weeks. Last break five months ago.
I learned about this stuff from someone who has my same pain condition who learned about it from a pain doctor. Turns out it's good for quitting weed too.

Ya I'm growing gourmets and medicinals now too just to keep up with mycology and learn more! Can only make us better next time we want to grow actives.

For sure. I took a break from actives over covid and mostly ran edibles.
Learned a lot.

I bet, I'm the same I have a fair stash of dried cubes and barely am dosing anymore, I'll have enough to last a long time.
But I could put edibles in meals pretty much any day if I had enough!

Thank you I'll look this up. Ever since medical marijuana took over and edibles and shit came around its just been different. I never use to get weird about weed. I need a gym membership or something

I also quit smoking weed. I love it, don't get me wrong. It helps me sleep, eat, and manage stress, but also causes all those problems too. I love weed but my life is better when I'm not smoking every day.
