Is this contamination?
    #28642924 - 02/01/24 01:09 PM (3 months, 13 days ago)

There was water pooling underneath the bag liner from condensation and some of it got past the liner into the cake when I was moving the bin. Corner is yellow where the water touched it yesterday 😞

Thanks for the help in advance

That surface is dry as hell. The yellow is likely metabolites, caused by contamination or environmental stress.
What's your setup? Seems you might have too much fae, you're not using a heatpad or fanning, are you?

Appreciate your help brother!

It's in a tub with polyfill in the holes. I haven't really been opening the tub or misting, what should I be doing differently?

I dont really use modified tubs but i would argue those poly stuffed holes may be allowing too much fae. Can you tape them up and just allow less fae by maybe leaving a small slit? Maybe wait for people who do mod their tubs but, I've always just cracked/flipped the lid for fantastic results.
Mist when the surface dries out, if it's drying out this much, then it may be due to too much fae.
The sub is also quite shallow, that means a smaller water reservoir for your mush, potentially causing it to dry out faster.
My bet is on those big holes though, that seems way too much fae.

Should I tape up with micropore or just regular tape?

Have you got a fan going in your room or a heat pump blowing? Constant air currants can cause the surface to dry up fast.

No fan, the heat pump turns on periodically but it's not blowing in the direction of the tub. Should I move it somewhere else? Or just mist a lot?

How can you tell it's dry? Just so I know what to look for

Because the surface looks dry and matted. Normal subs don't look that dry.
Explain the heat pump.

Regular tape, then leave a small gap for fae. That tub is not dialled in.

I mean just the heat pump that heats my house (it's winter 35 degrees where I live). I don't have anything special going on with the tub, it's sitting on top of a dresser away from any of the heating vents in the house

Tape up the holes, and then look at this thread: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26140339

Micropore tape is what iv used. Its quicker taping up the holes.
