Trich contamination
    #28642494 - 01/31/24 11:39 PM (3 months, 14 days ago)

Alright, what do y’all think?

Here’s the background:
-Midwest Grow Kits 66Q Monotub.
-Strain is Purple Mystic.
-Grain bag inoculated 12/16/2023 via spore syringe.
-Mixed the colonized grain bag with the substrate on 12/31/2023.
-Started allowing fresh air exchange via filter disks, introduced light and reduced temp 1/12/2024.
-First pins noted around 1/24/2024.
-Small dark patch with a little white noted 1/28/2024.(see picture 1)
-Dark patch and white grew very quickly over 18 hours(see pictures 2 and 3). Determined that it was most likely trich contamination and quarantined the tub 1/29/2024. I used a large cup to extract the visualized contamination, plus some. Then sprayed/saturated the inside and about 1in around the hole with 90% isopropyl alcohol(see picture 4)

It has now been 60 hours from time of extraction and I just harvested some of my flush(see picture 5). When harvesting, I looked pretty hard and I do not see any more trich growing.(see pictures 6 and 7)

Did I do the nearly impossible? Or am I just kidding myself? Let me know what you think!

Instead of removing substrate,
you could also ram down a cup/jar to the bottom above the patch.

In the end you have to know yourself
how much effort you wanna spend on this.
I mean, it's not a canopy you're gonna save,
and the mold will return,
you just saw it on the surface.

See it as a learning curve
and don't use syringes on grains again
