Do you mean the spent bags after you've gotten 2 or 3 flushes already?

People do that. Theres mixed results across the board.
In the interview with RR he talks about a bunch of fresh mushrooms he harvested going bad after a week in a garbage bag so he mixed it into his compost pile and the next year when the season came the whole pile was covered in mushrooms. I love that story and the way he tells it.

Well, I have lots of free space outside, that no one goes, so I will be doing this. I will burry all my spent cakes in shade, under trees, and just forget about them. If they fruit, it will be a nice bonus. I secretly plan to spread cubes everywhere 🤣

I recently had a all in one bag start showing signs of contamination so I buried it outback. Mixed it with some topsoil I had left over from a project a year or two ago, covered it all up with some wood chips and put a piece of cardboard over it to give it some shade and to keep water in while it all colonizes. I'm expecting to wait a while since my bag was only about 20% colonized when it got contaminated.
Good luck if you do decide to try throwing a couple of cakes outside. Might as well try to use them instead of throwing them away.

I've been burying everything in a few shady spots in the back yard for a handful of months now. Spent cakes, moldy cakes, agar leftovers with and without contaminants. I figure the garden won't mind one way or another, and maybe it'll fruit? Seems pretty unlikely, especially as we had a few days of Legit Winter Weather back there, but... I dunno. Why not?

Is this for cubes?
What's the wood for? Cubes can't use wood.

I have them laying around, they are just there for a little shade and to help keep everything moist longer. I don't have any straw and didn't want to go buy some just for this little experiment so I went with what I had. Probably wont help but im having fun with it.
