Hello guys,
I'm pretty new and newb when it comes to cultivating mushrooms , this is my first time trying PF Tek and this is the result.
Should I expect the mushrooms to grow larger or that's it? they will remain so small? If that's the max they will grow , why did they grow so small? did I do something wrong?
Thank you.

Perhaps a few veils are broken, but most of these just look young to me. I bet they bloom even bigger overnight. Might even take 2 or 3 more days for some of those. My first cakes I definitely harvested a few mushrooms at a time as the veils began to break vs the entire cake at once.

We usually care for surface moisture. As mycelium moves to the surface, you can see it carrying all these fine droplets. Not so easy with PFtek, as the cakes get rolled in vermiculite and ain´t fully colonized. But the vermiculite should glisten all the time.
For just a handful of cakes i wouldn´t hesitate to do this instead of a perlite tub.
But you´re doing fine, your shrooms look pretty. They´ll get a bit bigger for sure. Even if not, it´s not an issue. You grow from multispore, so you can´t expect big gunners all of them. Cloned genetics needed for that

Are u growing Mazatepeca by chance? Cause i had a ton of small fruits just like yours.
Mazatepeca was a paradox. It would grow lots of smal fruits or a few HUGE fruits. Its size diversity is so weird.
To tell if your cakes are hydrated, i like to get real close them with my eyes and look at the mycelium. It should look alive, fresh and slightly fluffy with tiny droplets on the surface. Thats the surface condition you want. You could imagine an amphibian enjoying the surface of the cake.

Thank you for your tips. Is it a good idea to mist (with the water bottle mister) on top of the mushrooms? Until now I only misted the sides of the tub, never on top of the cakes? Should I start misting the cakes as well?

I take it that it's your first grow?
Its not uncommon for the first flush to be on the smaller side.

The tub has already finished growing, you don´t need to mist it
Always mist from high above with a fine mister. I never had issues with misting shrooms. Only thing they don´t like is big water droplets sitting on their caps.
Syringe watering is also possible, but i never did.

I'll start doing that in that case to make sure they get all the water they need.
Thank you for all the tips
