Any Khat ID resources?

Received 2 Khat seedlings last summer but forgot to label what cultivar they were. I grew the seedling from seed and I think it was the Red Leaf cultivar but not sure cause my labeling leaves much to be desired.
Are there any good resources for Khat cultivar IDs?

What is khat like? Mild stimulant? Isn't it terrible for your gums?

Thank you!!! I know the seedling is a Giza Dimma (red) and the two mature ones may be a red long leaf. Apparently it gets easier to tell the older they get so I'll bide my time.

I haven't tried them yet, I was waiting for them to get a bit bigger before I try any of the leaves.
I've heard the taste is shitty and you have the eat quite a bit depending on the cultivar you have. I'll definitely update once I try a few.

Taste is good I reckon. The older leaves are kind of sweet tasting in the beginning, then they get this dry texture and a bit of a bitter flavour, but not very bitter at all.
The young leaves lack that sweetness I think.
The effect feels a lot like Ritalin to me, but it only lasts a few hours.
The strength can vary a bit between plants I think, but with my plant I can get a good buzz from chewing and eating only two decent sized leaves. It’s quite strong.
I think the only reason you see people with mouths full of it is because of their massive tolerance. Don’t do it every day and you’ll never have that problem.
It doesn’t seem very addictive to me either… not as addictive as Ritalin or speed, but probably a bit more addictive than caffeine.
I have a red leaf variety and it has slightly broader leaves and red veins I think

I bought a cutting and grew my own. Never seen fresh khat for sale anywhere.. the leaves need to be fresh for high cathinone content otherwise they’ll only contain cathine and norephedrine which are the breakdown products of cathinone.
Best way to do it is grow your own unless you live in some African country where they sell it fresh at markets or whatever

This is my red khat. It’s interesting how much the leaves can vary in appearance

Gave it a bit of a trim and tested some bits of stem vs leaves. The stems seem to be quite potent, maybe more so than the leaves.

No not really, I don’t give it much attention. They like to dry out in between watering and they don’t like much fertiliser.
I gave mine too much fertiliser one time and it got leaf curl/ leaves were really small.
They like hot climates too I think. Probably wouldn’t tolerate frosts I’m guessing… not sure. But easy enough to take care of

Wow, nice plants man! The first one looks like narrow leaf khat to me, and the last little one looks like the red/round leaf. Great score man!
