http://blog.alexanderhiggins.com/2011/05/15/congress-vote-declaration-world-war-3-endless-war-borders-clear-enemies-22785/
The United States Congress is set to vote on legislation that authorizes the official start of World War 3.
The legislation authorizes the President of the United States to take unilateral military action against all nations, organizations, and persons, both domestically and abroad, who are alleged to be currently or who have in the past supported or engaged in hostilities or who have provided aid in support of hostilities against the United States or any of its coalition allies.
The legislation removes the requirement of congressional approval for the use of military force and instead gives the President totalitarian dictatorial authority to engage in any and all military actions for an indefinite period of time.
It even gives the President the authority to launch attacks against American Citizens inside the United States with no congressional oversight whatsoever.
Just to recap, because that was a mouthful:
* Endless War – The war will continue until all hostilities are terminated, which will never happen. * No Borders – The president will have the full authority to launch military strikes against any country, organization or person, including against U.S citizens on U.S soil. * Unilateral Military Action – Full authority to invade any nation at any time with no congressional approval required. * No Clearly Defined Enemy – The US can declare or allege anyone a terrorist or allege they are or have been supporting “hostilities” against the US and attack at will. * Authorization To Invade Several Countries – The president would have full authority to invade Iran, Syria, North Korea, along with several other nations in Africa and the Middle East and even Russia and China under the legislation all of which are “know” to have supported and aided hostilities against the United States.
The Hill writes:
House Dems protest GOP’s plans for permanent war against terror
Nearly three dozen House Democrats are calling on Republicans to withdraw a section of the 2012 defense authorization bill that they say would effectively declare a state of permanent war against unnamed Taliban and al Qaeda operatives.
A Tuesday letter from House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) and 32 other Democrats argues that affirming continued war against terrorist forces goes too far, giving too much authority to the president without debate in Congress.
Their letter cites language in the authorization bill that incorporates the Detainee Security Act, which affirms continued armed conflict against terrorists overseas.
“By declaring a global war against nameless individuals, organizations and nations ‘associated’ with the Taliban and al Qaeda, as well as those playing a supporting role in their efforts, the Detainee Security Act would appear to grant the president near unfettered authority to initiate military action around the world without further congressional approval,” Democrats wrote. “Such authority must not be ceded to the president without careful deliberation from Congress.”
The specific language in the bill is found in section 1034 of H.R. 1540, which affirms that the U.S. is “engaged in an armed conflict with al Qaeda, the Taliban and associated forces.” It also affirms that the president has the authority to detain “certain belligerents” until the armed conflict is over.
“Al Qaeda, the Taliban and associated forces still pose a grave threat to U.S. national security,” the bill says. “The Authorization for Use of Military Force necessarily includes the authority to address the continuing and evolving threat posed by these groups.”
what are your thoughts on this shroomerites ?what is the most effective way of engaging in revolution against this corrupted system ?

It's about time. We've been at endless war since WWII, and they are only now finding the balls to come out and admit it? If anything sparks a revolution it should be this bill. A clear declaration of intent which many had already suspected was the truth. As you've stated, the question is not if we should revolt, but how.
I would be forthcoming with ideas, but I don't want to get v& quite yet.

Former constitutional law teacher Glenn Greenwald says that - in his defense of state secrecy, illegal spying, preventative detention, harassment of whistleblowers and other issues of civil liberties - Obama is even worse than Bush.
Indeed, Obama has authorized "targeted assassinations" against U.S. citizens. Even Bush didn't openly do something so abhorrent to the rule of law.
Obama is trying to expand spying well beyond the Bush administration's programs. Indeed, the Obama administration is arguing that citizens should never be able to sue the government for illegal spying.
Obama's indefinite detention policy is an Orwellian nightmare, which will create more terrorists.
Furthermore - as hard as it is for Democrats to believe - the disinformation and propaganda campaigns launched by Bush have only increased under Obama. And as I pointed out last year: According to Department of Defense training manuals, protest is considered "low-level terrorism".
An FBI memo also labels peace protesters as "terrorists".
***
A 2003 FBI memo describes protesters' use of videotaping as an "intimidation" technique, even though - as the ACLU points out - "Most mainstream demonstrators often use videotape during protests to document law enforcement activity and, more importantly, deter police from acting outside the law." The FBI appears to be objecting to the use of cameras to document unlawful behavior by law enforcement itself.
The Internet has been labeled as a breeding ground for terrorists, with anyone who questions the government's versions of history being especially equated with terrorists.
Government agencies such as FEMA are allegedly teaching that the Founding Fathers should be considered terrorists.
The government is also using anti-terrorism laws to keep people from learning what pollutants are in their own community. See this, this, this and this.
Claims of "national security" are also used to keep basic financial information - such as who got bailout money - secret. That might not bode for particularly warm and friendly treatment for someone persistently demanding the release of such information.
The state of Missouri tried to label as terrorists current Congressman Ron Paul and his supporters, former Congressman Bob Barr, libertarians in general, anyone who holds gold, and a host of other people.
And according to a law school professor and former president of the National Lawyers Guild, pursuant to the Military Commissions Act:
Anyone who ... speaks out against the government's policies could be declared an "unlawful enemy combatant" and imprisoned indefinitely. That includes American citizens. Obama has refused to reverse these practices.
this is outrageous !!it's a bitchslap against the world ! Obama is hands down the worst President.his administration is transforming america into a police state, a fascist state. I guess i'll move to antarctica...

One thing that you should be clear on is that, the reason why this congress bill is being passed is because its finally gone through the heads of these thick lobbying bastards in Washington that the US has run out of credibility to continue their global hedgemony on world trade.
The fact is that the US effectively made a suicidal move on imposing complete economic sanctions and freezing Russia's dollar reserve. Countries around the world now have seen what happened, how Russia managed to remain on its feet, and how easy it is for the dollar dependence of your monetary funds to become a gun to your head as a country. This will lead to a domino effect of countries doing whatever they can to free themselves of their dollar dependency, and as one country does so, others follow, and before you even know, the dollar's value goes to zero.
Polls in Europe even show the acknowledgment that economic sanctions on Russia have led to more destruction to themselves than it has to Russia, and it shows with the recession that is starting across all European countries including the UK as we speak.
As somebody living in Europe, the mainstream media portrays Russia as the threat to their way of life. The US conglomerates which hold the majority of shares in all mainstream media outlets in Europe, has pushed this message instilling fear of war unto the people in order to insight saber-rattling and self-destructive pro-war and pro-sanctions policy making in the European parliament leading them towards continuing their weaponisation of Ukraine in the belief that Russia has the interest of invading Europe hereafter.
What people don't realise is the absolutely preposterous absurdity of this world-view where people have somehow just forgotten that we live in an age of Nuclear deterrents, and that there is somehow still the idea that we can actually go on the path of a WW3.
There is no WW3, WW2 was the last world war, why? because it ended with a nuclear bang, if you could call senseless and irrational world-wide nuclear destruction a war, rather than just plain and absurd suicide then we've all gone crazy if you don't mind my saying.
What we should be focusing on is thinking about how we can quell this unbridled lobby of conglomerate influence that is Washington from its never ending thirst for private gain and its blindness to the consequences that this greed could bring upon the world.
Just note that as soon as the dollars value falls to zero, then nobody in the world will be obliged to serve any longer as a US vassal. Including Europe and the UK as they have done so well thus far with anti-russian sanctions, the war on Ukraine, Gaza and bombings on Yemen. All of which have caused reflexive harm on the EU economy.

When the value of the dollar falls to zero, when? That seemed like the funny part at first, but the second part of the if/then scenario is shaky too. Sure, if the value literally falls to zero the vassals are gone, but can you realistically decline all the way to zero, if you have resources and ICBMs? The Russian ruble declined almost to zero. It was worth 70-80 cents before the invasion and now quite stable at $.011. (Should have converted to Dogecoin standard). They still have vassals and want more.
