slow growing trich?
    #28631829 - 01/23/24 08:05 AM (4 days, 23 hours ago)

Hello shroomers I’m new here, a long time lurker but finally made an account because I’m having some issues with my most recent grow. I just switched from a highly successful water tub to unmodified shoe boxes. I transferred my clean cakes on 12/23 to the tubs using 6:1 ratio of pasteurized coir to verm. Didn’t touch them until 1/6 when I noticed some pinning in one which prompted me to flip the lid.

4 tubs of cyans- which is my first time growing them and I have read that I basically fucked that all up and they like manure. So two boxes went and went and went until they were covered in overlay and turned deep amber. I tossed them into the garden.

1 tub of APE revert- also finding out these can be a little difficult. I used less spawn with this and the JMF (lesson learned) This is the one I noticed with pins on 1/6

1 tub of JMF- steady colonization, seemed to be starting knotting but has since seemingly stalled.

1 Franken experiment tub of NSS LC, cyan, and APE revert- this one was reinoculated on 1/6 after no action from the LC. Once I reinoculated it took off and is now pinning and fruiting. Two days ago I noticed what looked like trich so I quarantined the container, the last two days the spots have not grown but stayed ever so slightly green. I hit one spot with peroxide, as a test, no change today.

Trich? Right? I’ve had it before but it spread so fast, this is not moving but looks like trich. Opinions? Advice?

My setup is in a sealed off room, vents blocked, I’m the only person who accesses and I spray microban or peroxide every time I’m in and out. I will admit I have been sloppier with this grow than past ones as the cyan syringe I got was a year old and I was like fuck it. I have 8 clean (I have never had issues with LC) LCs in my fridge that have been ready so I’m trying to learn how to improve on bulk. Thanks for the help!!

Some pictures of past success

I don’t think it’s trich. That stuff takes off and is green. That looks more like bruised myc. Is the top of your FC covered in big droplets of water by any chance? It’s possible for large water droplets to bruise myc like that.

Sure do! lol I checked on them today and it still hasn’t spread or darkened in color so I’m in agreement. I have only sprayed when they look dry but the tubs stay super humid and all the myc has micro droplets so I’m thinking I’m good on spraying/ moisture content?

Bruising, also, why are you spraying shit? That ain't gonna help. We spawn to open air, contams aren't an issue post spawning, provided you have clean spawn.
Sub looks slightly dry but might be photos.

Yeah with that much moisture you don’t need to spray. Pop the lid off for a bit and let it balance itself back out. I think some FAE will make them take off over the next few days

🫡 can do. I took the lid off tonight, will check on them in the morning. They were going crazy today so I’ll hopefully be updating within the next few days at harvest time. Thank you both for the help!

Heres the update after taking the lid off and leaving it alone. I also took the lid off my other containers, and re cased my cyans with manure. Today everybody has growth so I’m hopeful! Thanks for all the help
