monotub newbie with questions about safety of harvest
    #28635743 - 01/26/24 03:29 PM (1 day, 16 hours ago)

I had a monotub that unfortunatley got contaminated with a type of bacteria it seems. I abandoned the project and tucked it under a desk for only a couple weeks later to see a bunch of huge healthy looking mushrooms in the tub. I plucked the healthy ones and took pictures to see if you guys think these are safe for consumption.

the photos are of the tub at the time of when I abandoned it. Then, also of the mushrooms I just harvested today, having been a couple weeks since abandoning. Also a photo of 2 of the more concerning looking mushrooms with very dark discoloration.

forgot I had taken a video of how they looked when I found them so here is a snapshot from it where you can see them in the tub before I picked them.

Absolutely fine. People eat mushrooms that grow out of cow shit, remember.
Any concerns, just dry them cracker dry and make into a tea with boiling water and lemon juice, you will be flying.

Thanks for feedback. I'm still learning. this was the best harvest out of 3 times going at icontamination. will yield more,  and then next time I can be more sanitary and avoid contaminations hopefully!
