Hey everyone, after a bit of waiting and learning curve, ive finally grow my first APEs. Ive searched on other forums and among older post here regarding harvesting time and dunking a cake after harvest and can't really find one answer.
is it really necessary to dunk my CVG substrate after flushes with APEs or can I just heavy mist the cake ? another question is about harvest time. I know when the caps turns navy blue and start to curl, and steam get softer its about the time to harvest. Although non of this three factors happened at the same time with my APEs.
The caps starts to curl, and they get a little more softer when squeeze, but the caps remain still white. The photo shows how does they look like now. What's your opinion on harvest, should ill wait ? Thank you very much for help and answers in advance.

Different genetics, different phenotypes, unless you have a stable clone, they can all behave different. Some get blue, some don´t. You already nailed it, they curl up, get soft
I prefer heavy misting, cause i don´t like waterlogging. Mist until surface pooling, than let absorb. Repeat til no more absorption, then pour off/dab up excessive moisture.

thanks brother, your answers helped me a lot in all my posts. thats my second grow ever and im really excited ! What's is your experience on yields with APEs ?
I know there's many factors and different conditions thats apply to that, but is it true they give much less fruits in general than other cubes like GTs and Bplus ?
Im an amator, and just wonder how much I can really get aprox. from one mono tub that have 4kg of grain spawn. My spawn to bulk ratio was around 1:1 maybe 1:1,5.
Im so curious and still learning patience

Yield is always genetics, axenity, water content and conditions to me. APE isn´t the standard cube phenotype (unless it´s a revert) so it´s hard to compare. They´re usually not that tall, but can be very meaty, and in the end they´re about double in potency.
My favourite tek is this one, have a read and try yourself next round. Just keep in mind you want clean and healthy mycelium (Axenity).
Better keep values in volume, not in weight. Measuring in quarts makes life easier
