Blewits identification
    #28632913 - 01/24/24 06:59 AM (4 days, 2 hours ago)

Israel. All had a whitish creamy spore print. Planning to add this to my basket of edibles. Am I safe to assume that all of these are Lepista nuda? Been finding out where they grow and they fruit in abundance when it rains... It smells like a dream.

Any deadly/bad lookalikes other than Cortinarius and other clitocybe species that are the wrong color/smell/taste? What's the best way to collect these without accidentally shortening my livers lifespan by 10 years

I'm assuming this is a Cortinarius. Am I correct?

I'm not a TI, so I'll reserve judgment on the collection in the first photo.

As for the second one, although one of the distinguishing features of Cortinarius is a cortinate partial veil which might be described as arachnoid, that actually looks straight up arachnoid! As in I think that's just a cobweb or a parasitic mold, rather than the partial veil. I'd expect much rustier colored gills and for the partial veil to have collapsed on a Cortinarius of that maturity.

This was taken after it rained then went dry so im assuming it dried off before it could reach maturity like an abort
