That sub depth is fine. Even half that would work but shallow subs need to be rehydrated a lot after a big flush.

I ended up packing down way way too tight. My pseudo casing layer was almost fully colonized but I had checked in spots and even cut a slice to see more into the substrate. None of it had any mycelium growth. I didn't know exactly what to do but I ended up mixing up my substrate and not packing it as tight without any casing layer and hoped it would recolonize. About 5 days later I start to see a few small pins and just put it into fruiting conditions and left it alone for a week or so then I've just misted it and fanned it 2 times a day and they have just grown so fast. I didn't think I would get anything cause I fucked up. Hoping these will turn out decent but I don't know.
