Do they start growing if i put them to a warmer place now?
And if i want to fruit them after harvesting the sclerotia i can just throw a casing on top.

They should start growing yeah.

And you can case after harvesting.  I have some in fruiting now done like that.  Pulled the stones and mixed all the grains into the coir, recased.

So far they seem very resilient, as long as your spawn was clean to begin with anyway.

If you want fruits though you can just do the layers and case from the start too.  After you're done fruiting you'll have a bunch of large stones in the casing and on the bottom side of the grains.

The casing is more difficult to clean off and prep then shadecloth or bubble wrap is the advantage of the later (but you'll have to clean some coir off either way unless you do straight grains in which case I would stick to jars).  Stone production seems similar with both teks.

Is that a quart container?

I've been keeping my substrate around two inches and have yet to see a decent canopy.

Curious how your grow does if that's a quart container!

Mexicana or Tamps in the first (thick substrates work fine!)

And is that Bisporus in the second?

Thanks for the inspiration.  I'm going to have to play around with deeper substrates for exotics.

Was just wondering if this is sterilized in the container and inoculated with lc? Or did you spawn from grains and pasteurized? I might try a few sterilized substrates but I've never done it before so just trying to get some ideas on different containers.

It's an all in one (grain and coir, verm to adjust field capacity) inoculated with agar.

It's bottle tek but I skip all the extra ingredients

Great choice! That would be my first pick as well. Not so much for stones but great for fruiting.

Yeah I was looking for something that puts out decent fruits also. Heard the potency is also decent as well with these. Can anyone attest to that?

I have Bisporus and Tamps fruiting.  My space is limited, and I want to run out a bunch of Pan cultures.  The tamp tubs I'm going to try to put back into dormancy to make stones.

I guess that's my short answer regarding the fruits.

My long answer is the fruits have their own character.  To me, they're kinda weird.  Like I can't put my finger on them in the way I can't put my finger on DMT.  But, I haven't taken them more than a handful of times.  They are not nearly as potent as Pans, and they dry down to twigs, which is why I'm taking them out of fruiting, having limited space in the winter.  They are interesting, though, and I'm glad I have a small stash.

In the late spring/early summer, I'll probably fruit them again.  Try some tubs and outdoor grows.

edit:  Maybe that specific strain is better than mine though.  I've been eating about 1.5-2.5g of Atl 7 for a level 2 or 3.  The Bisporus dose I'd take for that would be in between .25 and .5 grams.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I’m very familiar with bispos!
:howyoudoing:
Were those tamps you’re talking about? I’m fairly sure those Rancho’s are Ps Mexicana as apposed to Ps Tampanensis if I’m not mistaken. Is there much difference in the 2 effect wise?

I only did mexicana twice and it was awhile ago.  So yeah, the above is for atl 7 tamps.

I know some people have preferences on sclerotia between the two species. I would expect the same for fruits.

I find experience between tamps and mexicana to be fairly similar. Both I would consider rather gentle and easy going, very body centric to me. I find them to be very effective in assessing issues in my body, they ease pain but highlight the areas where my body is not as healthy. I much prefer fruits over stones as well, absolutely hate eating stones… They’re my go to mushrooms for getting a massage!
