The stragglers are still out there!
Found these about 15 feet from a nice flush i came across earlier in the season—there were even a few pins that were just getting started — Walnut Creek vicinity.

As long as it keeps raining consistently the cyans will continue to pop.

Saw these little pins on Sunday.

Looks like it'll be dry for the next week or so... curious to see how big those guys will get.

Checked back on those pins from my last post, and not only had they grown but a handful of others popped up around. Encouraged enough to check on a few other spots and definitely seeing a lot of new action since Sunday. One patch kicking off a third decent size flush and several patches with a few new cyans popping.
Jan 2024 has been the gift that keeps on giving.

It’s definitely not over yet in SF.

Even found a single Allenii (on the left hand side) and I really wasn’t expecting that.
Gravy on top of an already stellar season. Left pins. If this atmospheric river actually happens next week I suspect things will continue.
Probably do another hunt/harvest from my favorite hunting zone this weekend. And might even take the bike to Marin and see what’s up over there.

Found a new (to me) spot in Emeryville today. Wasn’t even really looking or expecting to find anything because 3 out of 4 of the patches i found this season stopped producing a while ago.
Then I stumbled across a patch with a few dozen fully grown cyans that were mostly ripe with a few that already started to rot:

Nice to see some Gymn’s in the feed! I was up the Sonoma coast yesterday hunting edibles but had an eye out in the pine needles for Psilocybe pelliculosa which I know is super rare that far south but the ground is good and soaked for psilocybes so i thought there was a chance.

Was out for a jog and saw these - still fruiting! These are also mixed with those wet mushrooms that almost look like a toasted bun.

The toasted bun mushrooms are Hebeloma (poison pie).
