psilocybe Angulospora or Tasmaniana maybe?

Hi. These popped up in an Olive tree pot plant, outdoors. Initially thought might be psilocybe Tasi, but out of 5 caps I have collected, only one left a faint purple print. All Blueish bruising. Also only about 10-15mm in dia, so small in stature, also its mid summer, but been having hot and cold snaps.
Now wonder if some other species, like an Angulaspora or some sort of cross. Any ideas welcome.

Where in the world are you? And what temperatures have you been getting? And have you got photos of the blue bruising?
They do look like a Psilocybe sp.

In NZ, temps top around 30c, humid, and down to 12c, blue bruising only after squash with fingers and around edge of cap during a spore print process.
No photos of bruising, but will add when can

No photos of bruising, but will add when can. You can see some in pic 2 on stem where damaged.

These might be Psilocybe "tasmaniana". Do you have any images of the gills?
Please make an iNat observation and submit a dried sample to the Ohio Mushroom DNA Lab.

TASI is what i wondered too, as I have a few different species growing in potted plants now... all from same nursery supplier as it turns out.
Will take and share an image of gills (in next 24hrs and once big enough to pull), and what I have already re spore print too.
Maybe I will publish all 3 species on iNat and get them sequenced. Not sure about posting though.
Cheers

They do look very tasmaniana. Definetely not angulospora. Hybridization between different species of psilocybe isn't likely to happen.

To me they could pass as angulospora as well

The first two photos could be the species related to stuntzii, or maybe Psilocybe ‘tasmaniana’.
The second two photos are Psilocybe ‘tasmaniana’

I think they're all the same species.

Thanks for discussion. I too have seen angulaspora (recently in a similar setting) and they are different in a number of ways. Just the small size and no spore print made me think it wasn't your typical Tasi. But thanks for the multiple confirmations, as much as possible without physical sequence being done. Cheers.

Are these bruising blue or black? Hard to tell from the photos.

Would say bruising goes purple then purple/black. Spore print deep purple, photographs black

Thanks for the gill and print images.
I definitely suggest submitting this for ITS sequencing. It'd be cool to see how this matches with the holotype, if they ever sequence the holotype.

Thanks for the suggestion, re Ohio DNA project.
I have about 3 different samples, so might send all, fingers crossed they get there.
Cheers
