Bad trips (guide not questions) 4

Alright I'm a neuropsychologist and I know so much about drug pharmacology and psychopharmacology at one point I remembered most of the cytochromes (not just the cyp ones either). Now this isn't my peer review of what I'm about to share as we all know credentials don't confirm facts. But something to note however is magic mushrooms and psychedlics are truly too mystical to find empirical evidence as the are mystical and re-replicating an experience can prove very difficult if not almost impossible. You can have similar ones, but basically here is the funny thing nobody knew about shrooms:
You actually want a "bad trip" but firstly there's no such thing as that I just had to use terminology people use. No trip is bad it's just temporarily difficult and intense. It is a partial seretonin agonist so whatever intense hardship it causes, it also releases loads of sereronin allowing you to deal with it. People overreact to this intense experience and convince themselves of things. Once you have a bad time though, you can never think negative again in this life. It breaks down your boundaries when you trip "bad". Good trips are your already broken down boundaries being stimulated causing a letting go feeling and euphoria. But the mushrooms are random in what pathways they choose so pathways being selected may house trauma and it needs to activate that to rid it. Every "bad" trip I've come down off I never think negative like that again and am overwhelmed with positive euphoria. Everytime I have a good trip I get no therapeutic potential out of it. I come out as weak as I was before and just wanting more euphoria. It's a hedonistic curse with good trips. Bad trips solve all the problems in life. You quit caring if life's even real or not because you get so euphoric...and like forever too. People have it all wrong. You want your set and setting to be good ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT. Also you don't wanna do dangerous or uncomfortable things during the trip (meaning you can't purposely give yourself the bad trip, you can but it won't be therapeutic moreso temporarily really uncomfortable.) I'm not afraid of anything anymore and I literally have no pwrceivable problems ever since my last bad trip. Your ego and boundaries get rewired (sometimes permanently destroyed beyond repair).

it's good that you worked that out for yourself. why not try to make some diagrams and adjust your wording to match the diagrams you could be our resident medical mystic.

First of all that’s great advice on how to deal with “character building trips” as I call them. I feel like that’s a healthy way to process some of these difficult experiences.
Redgreenvines has a point. The psychedelic community as a whole could really benefit from a medical professional who could (at their convenience)answer questions, provide valuable feedback, and potentially help educate so many people (pretty much all of us) who have a genuine interest in your field. Not to mention you would have access to thousands of people to bounce ideas off, gain anecdotal evidence, and potentially be your virtual guinea pigs lol.

Had a really hard one recently (not the first or the last). It helped me shed some layers and was deep therapy.
These things are divine magic.

Really awesome post
At one point in life, I wanted to become a neuropsychologist or what was once called a bio-psychologist. You're living one of my dream careers.
I completely agree with you about the "bad trips". The post "bad trip" euphoria is so amazing, its like the best high in the world.
I once had a "bad trip" on 2.4grams of Dealer Shrooms. It was one of the most intense, scary trips of my life. I thought i was going to go permanently insane. During the comedown, I was listening to a local Pop music station and a woman caller called in and was talking the radio host. Both of them sounded so excited and "Human", that hearing their voices on the radio gave me some of the most pure Euphoria. Felt like I was on top of the World! Only difficult trips can produce those kinds of incredible feelings.
I will say that "good trips" can also create a similar type of Euphoria, in my experience, but it is quite rare and seemingly random.
When it comes to the medicinal aspect of Mushrooms, "bad trips" are by far the most beneficial.

The easy trips for me are openings for deep and profound meditation. Those are equally healing and beneficial for me but in other ways. I like to find balance and take the hard lessons as they come, as they do always come, again and again. But so do the easy times and that is all part of the holistic lesson in it all. It is all very loving and beautiful. Soft kind love, tough truthful love, relentless.
The harder trips can be rough for me. I have epilepsy and I have a lot of seizures and a lot of different types of them. The especially hard trips can bring out some intense and enhanced seizures especially in the first couple hours of the trip when everything is changing drastically. Mushrooms help me see them and amend my patterns and understand where they are coming from like I can see my nervous map and make conscious adjustments to it's function. Thought and emotion are not separate things. After the hard trips I feel accomplished and spiritually solidified.
Mushrooms have helped me in so many ways an the hard trips I am always thankful for. They teach me good things and give me tools for life. They bring my awareness to places it needs to be. It's healthy existential conditioning.
